only issue thatd have is certain music labels, and not just the ones whose names start with 'a' and end in 'vex', dont like it when certain tracks being up here on yt in full, but in the edited down forms like whats present in these vids it gets by fine. given this, i honestly wouldnt wanna make a playlist of all these. not only coz it would simpy take ages and my times better spent making the rest of this series, but coz i know in my heart it wouldnt be a complete represenation of the list. it may seem selfish to say this, but i also like actually want people to watch / listen to these vids and not just look at a playlist with the tracks layed out in order. that runs the obvious spoiler risk, but also makes people potentially less likely to check stuff they arent already familiar with, whereas presented in my vids theyll be forced to listen to at least some a song they wouldnt have heard otherwise even if they decide to skip the vid forward a bit; one of the reasons i made this thing in the first place was to expose lesser known songs to people after all. either way, if anyone wants to know where to find a certain track im more than happy to point em in the right direction for the ones that arent / cant be on YT.

It would be interesting to see “connect the truth“ as an opening theme for a new Ultraman Z series that focuses on his first few missions as an ultra master. I still can’t believe that’s happening in the latest season of new generation stars.

It’s interesting that a resident opening theme went on to become the ending theme for Ginga S, and then went back to being an opening theme for new Retsuden. The Voyager version of the song starlight has definitely had an interesting history with Ultraman. Wonder where it will be used next?

chronicle z isn't in this coz its just galaxy fight new gen song. why is in the thumbnail then............ um.............. this vid has been reuploaded and cut down since new generation stars is clearly its own ongoing thing like retsuden was, so its getting its own dedicated vid going forward.

and you never can, the entire show is lost media. all we have is the theme song, a few images and the original mask of the suit still exists, but thats it. it was the only toku show filmed in front of a live studio audience and the heroes were designed by original ultraman designer tohl narita.

The first two parts alone helped me discover so many new tracks with dozens ending up on my playlist. Even among the bottom 300 that you didn’t like as much as others, I was able to find songs that were bangers to me. Can’t wait to see what the rest of the list delivers.

I really love how you translate the titles of songs and dont leave them as things like "Kibou No Sirenbuilder." It helps connect to the song a lot more imo. Also props. This is clearly a gigantic undertaking. Are you really able to sit down and list out all these songs and rank them directly or is it more of a vibes thing where you know one song is just further down the list than the others?

the final list was sorted about a month before i started making part 1, and is basically orgasized by going "if you gave me song 1 and song 2, which of them would i rather listen to", repeating the process until i reached 1500 entries. however, sprinkled within the rankings i left some spaces taken by pieces of non-vocal osts i really like, not just to give them representation in some way, but also as a means to keep some of spots on th list 'blank' in case a song releases after i started the project that i wanted to include that i would rather replace an ost entry with. this has meant ive been able to include arc songs in this part for instance.

@cydrixar I just wanted to really say how awesome this is and how it obviously took a lot more effort than just slapping songs together. I like how you string together the first verse and the final verse to give a sort of medley vibe while not making the video three times as long. That effort is awesome and that deserves respect. @@samuraikarasu i appreciate all the kind words. knowing people are getting things out these vids is really gratifying. trust me, if i didnt cut down the songs, not only would it defeat one of the points of the series, that being to give people a sample of a track so they can listen to the full versions later and support the actual artists on spotify or youtube, but the entire series would easily exceed 100 hours in length (at the moment the porjected final run time of all five parts is gonna be about 42 hours). im obviously taking a bit of a break before i start part 3, even if only to see where the new ultraman new gen stars op is gonna place coz i already know its gonna get into part 3 somewhere lol, stay tuned for more.
