Cool ass video dude, one of my favorites I've seen from Milton. Tbh I think the NHC's 120mph cat 3 preliminary estimate was a bit high, more likely a cat 2. Still a pretty gnarly hurricane for sure though.
@dr.dylan123Күн бұрын

@@dr.dylan123 Yeah I've been thru a legit cat 3 before, the wind was wayy stronger than anything Milton did in FL where I was (Irma down in Collier County). Airport had 142mph and wind was actually worse east of there too. All the trees in my yard were completely defoliated like no leaves left, eerie look that you only see after a truly intense hurricane.

We had days of warning. Why wait at 3' above sea level on a barrier island... think sand bar 5 blocks wide, till the storm surge starts rolling in? When your truck dies and is stuck as the water rises to 3 or 4' hig swamping it destroying all electricals, I'll bet you wished you didn't wait to flee to higher ground on the main land. A dozen people were killed by the storm surge. Their famous last words.. I'm gonna ride out the storm here. Here's a clue, you don't screw with mother nature. Own a house at 3' above sea level in a hurricane zone after seeing Ft Myers to the south and the Big Bend to the north get inundated with 10' storm surge.... emphasis on SURGE... then why are you surprised it happened here? I'm at 41' 2 miles from the gulf. Not so much as a shingle off. Live inland near rivers or lakes that can overflow. Another ill advised decision.

Why does they always come at night? Helene wasn't that bad where we were, 5 mi inland Irma was at night and all the transformers were blowing. Our house doesn't have a lot of windows which is good. And for some reason it doesn't occur to us to remove the air conditioners from the windows. I saw one lady do that. But we never do that. We have three of them. I think We had a lot of roof leaking during Debbie. We have a big cooler on the back porch to catch the water leaking and my brother had to bail it out with a bucket. I wish that it would rain once so that we could see whether the roof still has to be patched more. I don't want a hurricane I don't want a tropical storm I just want some rain so I can tell if the roof is still leaking.

Flying your drone over those hikers is a law that is prohibited to do; especially over the guy standing 8:27 of your video. The reason why the law prohibits flying a drone over people are for legitimate safety concerns. The reason for this is that drones can pose safety risks to other hikers visiting the area, especially in mountainous terrain where visibility and control can be challenging, just as seen in your video. Including the fact that the noise and presence of drones can distract hikers, potentially leading to accidents or falls, especially on narrow or uneven trails, just like it's seen at 8:27 of your video. It's also easy to lose control of the drone causing the drone to crash into people, which can result in injuries. Then you also violated the individual(s) right to privacy, you invaded the privacy of those hikers, which can result in making them feel uncomfortable or even unsafe. People go hiking up there to get in touch with nature and to find their mojo, and adhere to safety rules and laws, and you came along disrespecting all boundaries, even if it wasn't your intentions to do so. You're lucky that when you had "lost your drone" it did not cause injury to another hiker. This was so not cool, and very irresponsible. Huron peak does in fact explicitly prohibits the use of drones in the area, and for good reasons. Regulatory compliance is put in place in national parks (such as Huron peak) and have regulations that restrict drone use to ensure the safety and enjoyment of all visitors. Prior to flying your drone in a Colorado national forest, you can get the most recent updates on the laws that are currently in place. Here are a few to contact. Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), Colorado Parks and Wildlife, or Colorado Flight Standards District Office. All phone numbers and websites are searchable on the net. Stay safe, and most importantly, keep other hikers and wildlife safe!
