I just ordered this. Not bad for$25. I dont use vibratos a lot so why spend a fortune on one. Plus this isnt a bad sounding pedal compared to a lot of the higher priced ones.

It really comes alive when you take advantage of the send/return inputs. You can really manipulate the sound in very psychedelic ways by hooking up two delay pedals and shimmer/reverb etc etc. lots of choices

Thank you, very helpful how-to video in a sea of frankly useless other videos about using this bf-3 flanger.

A high quality, clean review that goes over the features in detail that is very helpful. This video influenced my decision and I bought a CH-1 before "accidentally" buying a second one. That's my review avof a review. 😊 Interesting fact: these pedals went digital in around 2001.

It's nice to hear the rate sounds good at lower speeds. I had the Stereo Electric Mistress, but it sounded so tinny at slow speeds.

It can be used for vibrato too , just put a jumper to nowhere in the "dry" stereo out.

Great demo. Just wondering if this has the light bulb in it?

This is the pedal the cheap Moen Jimi Nova is based on, LEDs rather than a bulb, one for each resistor.

Seem like it can be nice with clean tone but not for drive stack, can you tell me or am i wrong? I'm ready to buy this but need to place on nano board which only fuzz pedal.

This is a decent phaser with a lot of options. But if you like subtle 4-stage phase shifting, this pedal in no way replaces the original PH-1. However, if you were a fan of the PH-2 "Super Phaser", this pedal replicates that perfectly. Biggest complaint I've heard about this PH-3 pedal is possible volume drop/tone suck of some of the earlier models.

This is a fantastic video - but I must say, owning this pedal, it's just not that great of a pedal. Mixing the vibe/trem mods sacrifice lots of wave forms available to singular pedals or higher end versions of this pedal. If you are are not much of a fan of multi-modulation pedals in general, this will also disappoint. Of note is that this pedal came out really before the technology to make mult-mod chip pedals was as readily available as it is now. These are not cheap even on the used market, but Keeley, JHS, and TC Electronic have much better sounding options. They are built like a tank though.

BTW.... I see you are using the Bass Input, with a Bass Guitar. BIG TIP... Use the Bass Input (Standard Mode) with a 6 String "Normal" Guitar... you have the sound of the Boss BF-2. What people don't understand about the "Digital" BF-3 is that its only the Delay Line (Wet) that is using Digital Technology to create the Delay, whereas in old school/vintage Flangers were using an "Analogue" BBD Chip to create the Delay. Noone ever had a problem with the DD2, DD3 etc. The BF-3 just provides a digital method to the same end... Dry Signal mixed with a very slightly delayed "Wet" signal. BF-3 has become my permanent go-to Flanger... The Police, Pink Floyd, Van Halen... you name it. I hope the BF-4 has MIDI Preset Memory.

Nice Vid Mate... one of the very few that actually demos this pedal well because you obviously understand Flangers and how to use them.

I’ve really been wanting to give one of these pedals a go for Hardcore, Metal, whatever kind of heavy music anyone can think of. I play through solid state amps because i don’t see any point at all in having to go through the process of having to constantly swap tubes in an amp, but because solid state amps are meant to have the preamp pushed in order to get really fat sounding high gain tones (similar to what you would see in a lot of 6L6 tube amplifiers but probably even more clean headroom) boosting an amp with an overdrive or a tube screamer winds up being counter-intuitive because your tone either winds up sounding too thin, or you wind up adding waaaaaay too much gain and causing the signal to clip in a really unpleasant way. I’ve noticed with clean/mid boost pedals in front of solid state amps you not only get that full sound that everyone says solid state amps are missing for high gain, but you also get the same kind of boosted amp tones you hear on a lot of great Metal/Hardcore albums.
