Er...yuck. I guarantee that this is not attractive to the world. It's commonly touted by non-critically thinking Christians that if we model this, the world will be attracted to Jesus. But if we actually think about it, has anyone ever said to a Christian, 'I came to Christ because I saw how much of a leader you were over your wife and how submitted she was to you' (I gagged just there as I was almost finished typing that.) Plus, ahem, and this is important: The bible doesn't say that husbands are to be shepherds to their wives (as though they're - sheesh - his cattle, sheep, or an infantilized grown woman buying into needing the guidance, protection, or leadership of her husband...without her also doing those exact same things for - herself, others, or - gasp - her husband. Because, do you believe women are incapable? Given a different holy spirit, the one without the same capabilities? (Hint: no such thing.) Are men given special dispensation to protect women? History shows BIGLY no - opposite, in fact. Men's protection was needed IN PAST when laws allowed women to have any number atrocities performed against them. But now that laws are changed, women's minds have been free to fully show themselves to be equally capable. And now some good ranting (Oh? You thought the above was ranting?): Women need protection by men from what? Only...other...men - men who use their physical strength to coerce/force subjection. Anything else, spiritually, emotionally, etc. men aren't yet socialized on a near equal scale to women to be qualified to lead a women into safety in those areas. The HUGEST thing a husband can do is to learn to lead himself, and to let his wife live. Genesis did NOT construct roles for men and women...the sin that came after the garden explained that patriarchal rule came from sinful men's desire to rule over their wives/women. And still today many read that as God's proscription rather than God's explanation of what God knew would occur. Adam's blame of Eve for getting them kicked out, and his anger toward her ever since for him having to work hard instead of resting easily in the garden. Thus he'd never make the mistake again of not leading his wife and all women everywhere to obey him/men.

Going to be snarky here. Those poor foolish, wondering women. If not for a man she would out there wondering around lost and straying from God. I do have a few questions though. Does God save women in the same wsy that He saves men? Do both genders then receive the same indwelling Holy Spirit? Is that Holy Spirit just not as able to lead and guide a woman as it is well as it is able to lead and guide a man? Is the man equal with Jesus and does he therefore become her savior and she is then no longer in need of The Savior. It really sounds to me like a picture of how the Pharisees behaved towards Gods people and therefore was why Jesus had such an issue with them.

First of all, so called "Orson Bean", wasn't his real name. There was nothing wrong with his actual birth name, Dallas Frederick Burrows. He obviously "sold out" her birth name because of the shallowness of the entertainment industry?! Most likely the change was made as the result of a greedy Business Manager, with perceived notions of greater recognition accompanied with monetary gains? In reality, it's also shows blatant disrespect for one's parents & their family heritage, just to possibly obtain (not earn) a greater buck?!

No wonder I love to worship, it is in my blood through the Welsh, Scottish and N. Irish part of me! This is powerful. My dad would walk around our house belting out the great hymns like this.
