I love the old 148 had one serviced recently she is in good shape inside and out works a treat .They sound fantastic when the band is wide open and stations all over the world come booming in

I like the hi tone of these devils but it's not a 1980's volume tone mic I bought one in 1990 $20 at Hamfest it was perfect I would held onto if I though greed-bayers sould of made z orideless mic later. But I had 3 of the Dirt-Devils there switches go bad astatic corp' wouldn't send me new ones That is the poorest design of these mics at this point . But why would they make un amplified noise canceling stock mics that are junk and worth $15 new! More companies need make 9vdc power mics .

Nice condition, except the aerial doesn't look original with it having the elbow joint in it. I believe the original aerial telescoped into the set.

Fine and coarse should be both at 12-00 oclock then use fine tune to bring others in who may be off slightly. Turn the coarse to 9-00 oclock to move 5kc or to line up to any UK 40 CB channels you can pick up on bands E+F. Lead by example as new commers to the side bands may use your video as a reference to DX on the skip and not know that if they use the coarse know to tune others that they will be movin off frequeny instead of using the fine tune.
