Hi! I don't know if you're online to read this, I'm impressed by your perfect knowledge, you would be a pretty good teacher. I have similar Drivers as you, a TI 1050, Realtek family controller, etc. I want to install XP on this specific PC, not to use it, but to "collect" it, and learn how to install it on other modern devices. I'm currently on Vista, that I have installed for the same purpose, collect. It looks nice, and I'm a fan of XP. I hope you write back to give me a short tutorial, or maybe some links to help me out to get past the setup (before i suffer a BSoD), since I need drivers, and I don't really know where to find those drivers. and most driver downloaders are like gone 'n stuff...

How did you skip to OOBE? I'm trying to do this myself, and can get through the first part of the installation fine, but when it boots into the second part it gives and error saying "Windows cannot start the installation process"

Why do people keep sayinf that Windows XP won't boot from USB? It does work 100%. I have done it 100s of times working with older computers.

You can run Vista SP2 on UEFI with CSM and keep doing UEFI+GPT boot. CSM just allows for interrupts and MBR booting, but you don't have to use the MBR booting part of it.

- Rufus will make XP boot from USB. Just sayin'. - BIOS has to be in Legacy mode. If yours has it. - SATA has to be in IDE mode. It can do AHCI with some tweaking, but not really worth the effort, just stick with IDE. - XP natively supports up to 4th generation CPUs (i7-4960X being the latest). Anything later is hit and miss. If you'll remember, 4th-gen LGA2011 boards were the last to include things such as PCI slots, SATA-2 ports, and similar aging stuff. After experimenting with "modern" hardware, I decided to stick within a given OS's native support range. As mentioned, XP on an i7-4960X, then Win98 on a P4-3.8GHz 2M 775 board, Win7 on 9th-gen hardware (tested on i9-9920X) and similar constraints. Turns out it wasn't really worth the effort to force-feed an OS onto hardware it doesn't support. If you have drivers for things, great, but if not....Like sex, it's too much work, WAY too high a risk, and with very little payoff.

Check in the BIOS if you can enable Legacy USB mode and it should work

Windows XP doesn’t have built-in support for newer hardware so you’ll be left with an unbootable Windows installation or with non functional or missing drivers.

I'm getting a 0x000000A error in the second part of the setup, any tips? (idk how to fix it, most of the methods didn't work for me)
