As an Anglo Canadian, and I'm actually pretty tired of all the Chinese and Indian nationals in my country who seem to hold more allegiance to where they were born than where they now live. If you want to be a citizen of a western country then leave all that useless cultural baggage at the door. Stop bringing your troubles here. Same goes for Israelis, Palestinians, Ukrainians etc. Why would an American or a Canadian care about Taiwanese independence? It's irrelevant. This "joke" obviously has some truth to it, and it's a good example of why diversity is not a strength, but a weakness. You stay here for the social benefits, but your heart will always be with your homeland, and that's a big part of why our country has begun to decline so rapidly over the past decade. One thing we could definitely learn from China is how to implement a responsible immigration policy.
