If you're going to do a song, skip the long intro and just do the song.

Dedicated to Johnny Winter! The very first time I saw Sonny play it was as a member of John Hiatt's road band The Goners, and Sonny was playing a Firebird.

The world hasn't seen anyone play at this level of electric plank-spanking since Hendrix died and yet this video has only had 18 views in 2 months. I've been listening to Sonny play for over 30 years and I just don't understand why he isn't famous.

Lovely. My great friend, Paddy, sent me this video after your birthday gig in the Albert Hall. I was second row and he was 4th or 5th. Paddy died 32 days after your wonderful gig. WE loved the gig and enjoyed all the numerous guests and I never expected to see Ralph McTell in my entire life. Clare to Here was tearfully enjoyed. Both Paddy and I were jubilant walking back to Knightsbridge, where I left him one last time, outside the tube. I didn't want to leave him and that was unusual. Then, a few weeks later, he was gone, forever!!

Who is the bass player? Sonny has been touring without his longtime best friend and accompanist Dave Ranson; I hope he's doing alright. PS, the drummer is Brian Brignac who has been playing with Sonny for several years.

He's René Coman of the Iguanas, they were/are touring with Sonny & opened the show. I read Dave Ranson was having health issues, not sure of his status
@goodun2974
@goodun2974 26 күн бұрын
@@bluesharpbobny , thanks for the reply; hopefully Dave's medical issues are nothing too serious. For that matter, it's my understanding that Wally Ingram, who used to play with David Lindley, plays drums with the Iguanas now, and he had a serious health scare some years ago. Hopefully he's been healthy since then; I got to meet him and Lindley once at a gig where I had two teenagers with me ---- David and Wally gifted the boys with drumsticks, snare brushes and guitar picks and autographed their shirts. Very fine and generous people, both of them; it nearly crushed me when David died last year as I've been a fan of his for 5 decades.
