Where's a good spot to take off from to fly over Bedruthan Steps?
@Firefly_UAV14 сағат бұрын
Officially it’s a National trust property and they don’t allow take off and landing from their land. If you do happen to visit you may find that there’s plenty of spaces that are suitable for TOAL with great view of the whole area. Areas like ///incursion.doctor.quarrel Please have fun and be safe!

A interesting video, I crashed my Mini 3 Pro the other day and opted to choose DJI for repairs (didn’t have care refresh) Raised a case through their website and they emailed me a paid shipping label. Posted to a service centre in Nottingham and received an email the next morning saying they had received it. Later that day I received an email to say it had been examined and attached a quote. They’ve said I may get my drone back repaired or a replacement. I’ll let you know which when I get it back.
@Firefly_UAV14 сағат бұрын
Thanks for your comment. Sorry to hear you had a crash. Have you got it back yet?
@AMDronephotography13 сағат бұрын
@@Firefly_UAV yes, posted last Thursday with a pre paid label from DJI, they received it on Friday morning. By Friday teatime they had examined it and given me a quote which amounted to £100 for the gimbal assembly repairs VAT and postage. I paid it and received it back Tuesday lunchtime. I got my old RC controller back, however I received a brand-new, mini three pro which they have told me I’m entitled to Care refresh. Oh, I forgot and just like you I now have a spare Gimble guard. 🙂

Brilliant to know, can't wait for a good storm to come, I'm gonna get some amazing pictures 👌
this thing happened to me, not auditing, I was recording before all these regulations came out, and came in to land, and there were 2 people who ran under my drone, and I had to move it up and hover, then look for somewhere else to land, but then they carried on running under it following and thinking its funny. I didn't, I just wanted to land to change battery, instead I packed it up after a crash landing away from them.

That’s a really bad what that happened to you, but you did what the flyer in the video should have done and kept everyone safe even those who put themselves in danger

Hi there, is there anything for film makers which offers more freedom after taking an exam I want to utilise a mavic 3 pro cine with it having 3 cameras and apple pro res. Now my requirements would be recording in residential areas and other commercial areas and busy places which gets human traffic. I never need to fly over uninvolved people, also don't need to fly higher than 30m most of the time. there will be the occasional time to get wide air shots. its also for commercial use, but I would want to use it for recreational to get plenty of use, so info in both areas.
@Firefly_UAV13 күн бұрын
This video covers the open category. It might be worth you looking at the specific category. Of it’s just recreational then you might be ok with the article 16 permissions that you can get through places like fpvuk. Otherwise you’ll need to go for the GVC where you can fly over people in a 50m bubble. That’s not cheap though and you’ll need to pay the CAA £250 a year for the pleasure. There is some hope that the UK might accept the C class makings int he future that may be just what you need

Haha and then some woman who has no control over her unleashed dog allows it to attack a drone being landed. Thank you. I’m glad they’re helping. You could do a the free coursework for the A2cofc with UAVHUB. I have no affiliation with them other than having done my GVC with them. Doing the coursework will help you understand the rules too, and if you chose to pay for the exam and gain the qualification it will help you fly In more places
@GhostWriter_Music13 күн бұрын
@@Firefly_UAV It has helped greatly, I am finding that the rules have changed a lot so when I think something may or may not be ok, then find later in a newer paper it is ok. does the UK use the Eu class system at all while its coming up with its own? I wouldn't ask, but I saw a uk website who specialise in commercial work mention it at the bottom about what you can and can't do. I'm looking at the mavic 3 potentially which is a c2 drone, and that should be okay after 2026. But its hard to say what the UK will change.

I don't think that it's a 241 because it's obvious that a drone pilot (or a r/c model plane pilot) will land their thing by them, and the security guy approached DJ. I don't think he's hated, some think he's a nuisance, but I have never encountered anyone who has got particularly strong feelings about him, or in fact about any of them bar one or two (UKMTT and Marti thingy). An individual can take footage in a private capacity and then sell it later, think about the times that you see video or photos feature on the news and it says that it was taken by a member of the public. The biggest differences between being a private person and a business would seem to be if it is taxable income, and liability insurance. As the CAA controls the airspace it'd seem likely that the land owner controlling the airspace is still not going to happen. Maybe as a business an auditor would have to provide copies of footage under a SAR, but I think that there'd be legal argument to question if they have to give any footage taken in public, and just like buildings in the background of a non auditing photo wouldn't usually get any SAR or GDPR rights, a question may come up that DJ or whoever is operating in CAA airspace and the companies are in the background, so with no rights. I haven't thought about it enough to come to an opinion but I suspect that those legal issues would come up.

I wouldn't agree with the author of this video. DJ Audits sets the standards for auditing. I don't particularly like his use of English grammar with his use of 'You was' but as regards of his journalistic ability he sets a standard. Whether people like him or not is just a matter of personal preference.

@DJISupportGlobal I don’t have customers as such, but do have subscribers. I do sell drone services, but I like to help people learn more about drones and how to fly them responsibly and hopefully in more places. As far as the repair side goes I have people asking who don’t know how to proceed when they crash their drone and they don’t have care refresh. They sometimes will send them to third party companies for repair where the service doesn’t seem so good and the cost is often much higher. This is why I made the video to help people understand the process and what to expect. I’m always happy to collaborate if I can give my perspective on a service or product that helps others in the drone community

Thank you for this video as I'm in the process of starting up this hobby so am already looking around on Drone Assist about certain restricted areas local to me, and have already found one that is interesting, that being a local police station and the references on the site to it. The station is on Bournville Lane, in the Bournville area of Birmingham. I can accept that the app probably does not know that this station is known as the E1 (Echo One) and is the operational control room for the local county, but the app has it listed as being a NORTHAMPTONSHIRE Police station when it is actually West Midlands, so is about 50 miles out. This may only seem a minor thing to mention, but it may bring the overall accuracy of this app into question.

Nice video thank you! Drone assist is great but be nice if they had a chart/legend on web site/app explaining the colours. I know it shows on app when you click on an area but a separate legend would be nice! Bit confused about yellow areas near me, one is a graveyard and says ground hazard, operation of your drone may raise security or privacy issues? Is this just because they might be a funeral or someone mourning? Like I said the drone assist app is great but sometimes unclear about certain area restrictions.
