It's interesting how different everyone else's childhood was. I was mostly a Cbeebies kid, but a little bit of Disney. Nobody seems to remember Cbeebies. :(

I'll say this bluntly as possible: whether you were a television watcher, movie enthusiast, video game addict, music enjoyer, flash game player, toy collector, internet surfer, etc, the 2000s just had peak media. It felt like I was born during a modern renaissance, and I'm glad to draw inspiration from many of these creators and creations growing up. They make me who I am today, and I am proud.

Dude, that was Amazing! I’d count everyone born from the years 1997-2014 to have all these memories. “Carry me home tonight” I kinda feel bad for the brand new kids, how will they make nostalgia out of all this new stuff?

We really was the last generation to grow up before technology took over. Very grateful but also feel bad for kids nowadays that don’t know life without it and get brain-rotted with smartphones.

Wish I was born maybe 10 years earlier, feel like I missed out on alot of peak things. Born 2006 so still caught the back end of it but still would’ve been nice to have grown up in the late 90s/early 00s

Some 00s kids felt the same way about missing out on the 90s, and some 90s kids probably felt the same way about missing out on the 80s, etc. No matter what time is your time, it's going to be a little unsatisfying because life's generally a little unsatisfying. You'll be happier if you stop thinking that you'd be happier in the past.

I hate to be edgy but i was born in 1999 and i just dont feel any nostalgia for this shit. Not that it was bad. I think objectively a lot of it is better than today because there was more need for creativity and style back then. But the nostalgia is just not hitting me.

Back when life was simpler. We are truly the last generation. We got to see how good our parents had it and we experienced the internet evolve, but it evolved too quickly, and now we're here. Lots of things have become convenient and lost its special nature.

I remember a book that was similar to a Where's Waldo book. It was the same concept: looking for stuff in pictures. It was Christmas-themed. It may have even been made by the same people. One of the images was of a forest of candy canes, one with vertical stripes instead of spiral ones and a word bubble that said "Something must have gone wrong"; another one with polka dots instead of stripes and a word bubble that said "I'm not myself today"; and a small one that was pure white and had a word bubble that said "I'm too young to have stripes." That book also had a picture of elves making wreathes on a sort of assembly line, and another one of multiple Santas on different roofs, all of which had word bubbles which said "I'm not real" except for one, whose word bubble said "I'm real." I wish I remembered the title of the book. Does this sound familiar to any of you?
