I had the original by Billy Joe Shaver played at my mom and dad's funeral. Billy Joe was all these legends friend and they considered him a songwriting legend. Waylon started the Outlaw Country movement with an album of Shaver covers (Honky Tonk Heroes)!

I'm a Yankee from up North but I always root for the Confederates in Civil War movies. Those Southerners were brave and honorable. I respect them.

Greetings from Middle Tennessee... just 'new' England yankees being themselves...just like now. My family fought them at Franklin, Shiloh, Nashville, Culloden, and as Vikings in northern England. America is only free because of the Scot, Scot Irish, Irish, and Scandinavian blood that we as true Southerners share. Nemo me Impune Lacessit, Deo Vindice, Lang may yer Lum Reek !

This song always reminds me of my dad who died 10yrs ago suddenly. These four men were his favorite musicians.

Born and raised in the south, great-great grandson of a soldier in Co. D, 37th Ga. I'm retired USAF veteran and owner/operator of Aircorpcamo Tactical LLC, Boiling Springs, SC. I need help getting the word out about my store because with everything costing 46% more than it did in 2020, I can't afford to pay for the outrageous cost of advertising and marketing. Thanks to my patrons that keep me open.

Southern Boys! My great great great grandfather fought with Lee. It took Grant 10 months to wear The Army Of The Northern Va. down. Bloody war and over 600,000 killed. Sad times!

I’m always amased how this álbum is no more well known. I listen It for decades! And I am away from, as I live in Porto, north Portugal. Southern music is great and they are the best. 👏
