That's not the problem. The problem is the magazine catching on my hand.
@GregoryGrone-vb7qeКүн бұрын
@thecontemporarygentleman wipe your mags down with a thin glaze of Hopps #9. Do the same to the inner mag well walls. That'll at least make them slide against anything they make contact with more smoothly. Otherwise you may need to go to a 19 or 17. I don't mess with the 45 or any of their newer models with the proprietary magazines. Like the 48 and some of the new gen5s. I went with the 26 so I can use 10, 13, 15, 17, 24, and 33rnd magazines in a subcompact platform. I use a 19 mag with a spacer sleeve and it works out well for me. I've got pretty normal size hands.
@thecontemporarygentleman21 сағат бұрын
So, the 19 mags with the 19 grip is the problem. The 26 grip is okay, even with 19 mags. The issue with the 19 is that the bottom corner of the magazine catches my palm. My work-around is not using a 19.
@GregoryGrone-vb7qe20 сағат бұрын

@thecontemporarygentleman25 күн бұрын
@@ravenbear-eaglelion8830 when pushing your limits and you have a lot of MOLLE employed, that can be dramatic. 12 miles with 50 lbs on your back, oz equal pounds. MOLLE is material and when the army gives you shit covered in MOLLE and you're using pouches attached, I'll bet it adds more than you want. I know it adds more than what I want. Plus, the weight being pushed outward and then pulling down is annoying on a chest rig at the very least. Perhaps you still find all of that asinine. However, I do not. I still hit the gym and having less MOLLE reserves that additional strength for if I need it. I.E., getting a casualty to safety. Is that splitting hairs? I don't think it is based on experience but perhaps your experience is different.
@ravenbear-eaglelion883024 күн бұрын
@@thecontemporarygentleman fair enough. The ounces equals pounds argument. I really don’t think MOLLE is adding that much encumbrance to affect overall performance, I’ve hiked 12 with a SAW and 15 with a basic combat load of 50 lbs. The 12 as far more challenging due to the SAW and barrels. I never thought to myself I wish I didn’t have this MOLLE on my PC or LBV. I’ve also never held a really low profile light PC or rig before so I don’t really know the perceived weight savings. I do appreciate the response, regardless carrying weight for miles is humbling to say the least.

The main feature that I believe makes it superior to the ngal (and the reason I gave up on the ngal) is the ability to turn down the illuminators and laser brightness. If your shooting at distance lots of times the laser and illuminator is too powerful and turning it down to the sweet spot allows you to better see the targer. I guess a second one is that you can literally program that remote to have any setting you want, that's pretty cool.

We are lacking an 18350 and 18650 Vampire/Viz solution. That said, on dark nights, the Vampire is just too much. I have a TNVC V1 head, which comes on in low first, then high. I have a 180m view from my porch and I hit the light, in low mode of course, IR. It illuminated it all. Very well. I then double-tapped for "high". It looked no different. I thought maybe there was a low battery or other issue until I did it a few more times and noticed it was just my tubes dimming significantly. I literally get the same performance in low as I do in "high" in IR mode because it's so bloody powerful/tubes dim. For gen 2 or older Gen 3 systems, I can see the appeal for the power, but for me, it's annoying and I don't think I could even make much use of a V1 weapon light without a low mode.

You want minus for less gas. So push the "-" side down. That said, the virtus is a gassy system. I haven't seen an after market gas valve yet, but that's what it would take.
