That was very interesting to watch and loved the colour choice. Was a type of negative painting first step and then filling in what you wanted. I like the “abstract” shapes and lines especially with the rigger brush. Thanks so much for sharing. Water colour painting can be so diverse if you willing to try it. Really beautiful 🙌🤗

Wishing you a blessed and joy filled Christmas time. Beautiful watching a calming and serene winter landscape evolve. Each layer and dash of colour and sprinkle of light makes it flow into a beautiful sunset or sunrise. Can it be either one or is there a difference I am missing. The moment the trees came in it became 3D So artfully and clearly done in that stylish way. Adding the delicate textures of the fine twigs on the tree and the grasses below. To me it was looking out onto a frozen lake and seeing the far edge of woodland in the distance. Leaving that fine narrow white strip of unpainted paper was defining the distance. A limited pallet and the building of each layer of which there were many brought the softer colours alive and brighter but still very gentle to look at. Thank you so much for sharing your incredible talent 🤗🙌❄️

Thank you very much, You are completely right and well observed, and indeed both are possible, sunrise or sunset. I just wanted to make a quiet work, between all the colorful works of the Christmas season. @ Absolutely it does. Have you tried the course ground salt as well as the fine salt. It is great. There is also Salt Flakes which would be interesting to try. Amazon have it so have ordered a small bock of it. Am sure the effect would be amazing. I know certain pigments can affect the salt too. I watched an artist use cadmium and yellow and they didn’t turn out t quite the same as the blues which I find interesting. Maybe try it on some scrap first 😊

@@sandymanning-b5o I just took kitchen salt, I don't use that much in my work, so that other salt, no idea :) it will all be for after New Year, to do some testing, too busy now :) And then I have to order it. So I'm curious, indeed, it depends on the colors, the pigments, and all sorts of things. We'll see :) Happy holidays and enjoy it ..❤

@ I agree how different techniques are incredibly sometimes with the out come. I sent 3 emails you may be interested in all about salt. I saw an artist dip a toothbrush into salted water and run her thumb under the bristles for a fine spray effect which was also very nice too

Hey, thanks, well that brush is a selfmade one, you can't buy it, if you want something like that you should take the smallest rigger there is, and that would work to :) hope you find one :)
