No no no! Sorry but trapping the hand/wrist is wrong and leaves you open. Best to be near the elbow

I started my martial arts training way back when I was growing up in Southeast Asia. I started in Muay Thai, then did boxing/kickboxing when I moved to California. I was also introduced to FMA here and found that I love it. As I got older, I decided to stick with FMA and found that my experience in Muay Thai (muay Mat style) and boxing/kickboxing enhanced my FMA empty hand. I loved all your videos as they teach; I called it "The Flow of destruction" very well. Thanks for sharing your lessons.

Thank you for your comment, Morgan, I appreciate it. That is such an old video. ;-) There's been a lot of evolution in my program for Dirty Boxing, since then(which is not really shown in videos, actually). Again, thanks.

Is there any leg scissor ''sweep'' or leg break option for knife defense sinds i see that all knife defends focus more on arms and trying to block or grab the knife and i know that will get you sliced up or worse. So i train krav maga and pencak silat with judo for grappling and it worked all my life in real case scenarios (never lost a fight) just wondering is it possible for me to not get stabbed using my legs sinds i prefer kicking and takedowns like this, sinds my arm reach isnt that great i improved my kicking allot and use my arms for feints & fakes locks and defense only

Love your videos and instructions. I grew up in Southeast Asia and started training in Muay Thai (we called it Thai boxing back in the day) and Silat in secondary school. Later, I picked up Escrima and Filipino arts when I moved to California. Today, I blended the three and just called my practice SEA Arts. You've done a fantastic job blending all three and achieving that great flow. Thanks for your video instruction; it is one of the best. I continue to learn from yours. Thanks for the inspiration.

Thanks a lot for your comment, Morgan. I truly appreciate you taking the time to write these honest and heartful words. The best feeling that I could possibly get is indeed from knowing that what I do with so much passion can inspire others. You make it clear that this is the case for you by expressing it here, so thanks for dropping by, and thanks for your appreciation.

Maybe you hit hard. But it doesn't look that way. Maybe your light flurry with those strikes works. Dunno. Family I trained with were known for breaking hands. Even if they hit muscle it felt like a clever was chopping the limb in two. 40 years of FMA. You can tell whose a hard hitter even shadowing their strikes the way you did there. You can see the hips move. The shoulders tork. The step drop. Think you're one of these butterfly kisses people. So used to pulling your strikes that you might not know how to genuinely hit. Post a clip of you hitting a tire at some future point? Would be reassuring that your stuff isn't fancy butterfly kisses that wow people at seminars. 😉👍

Ummm... Yes/no. After 40 years of martial arts I've about 1,285 fights in that time. I sat down towards the end of my fighting days and did the math. IF THE HAND ALWAYS RETURNS TO THIS "HOME" POSITION THEN I NOW EXACTLY WHERE ITS GONNA BE. In an art where you hit the hand? Is this a good practice? Yep, sure. Is this something you always do? I'd say... no. Why be predictable? That's how you get a broken hand. Something that never happened to me during all those fights. My 2 cents. Keep posting stuff. You make things interesting to watch. 😉👍

think you're ignoring a big man's strengths again. like go find a BIG guy bang his wife or his sister. as you discuss these matters face to face. attempt what you think you're teaching here. it gets super instructional. when they're genuinely furious. much of the Filipino arts that originally came to the United States over 40 years ago. was about very tiny Filipinos trying to deal with very strong Caucasian Marines. can say for a fact they did none of what I just watched because it wouldn't worked. it was a different time that bred reality. good luck. continue your journey. hopefully life is kind while teaching you her ways
