I was late watching this BUT so glad I did. I really think they were like oxygen for each other. Even though it ended with him prob going to New York, there is no way they could ever stay apart for a long period of time. I would like to think he would come back to see Lorraine and he & Marianne would go right back to where they started. You can feel the vibes when Mescal & Jones are in scenes together; no one else exists. They are each others’ lobster FOREVER
