Manny Machado only wants to play when he wants to play because his stats are down and he's been coasting most of the season now he wants to get his statistics up so now he's busting his hump see he's available but he won't be so all year he just wants to play to get his stats up selfishly This is my problem with Machado he's only working when he desires to and the problem is in the meantime half a year has gone by before he heats up there by we've lost 8 to 10 games in the standings because of non hustle because of most as the leadership of what he hasn't done for half a season but now people like myself I've been calling him out and now he's starting to bust his ass But I don't like this Soto type Behavior the way he only wants to work hard when his statistics are in Jeopardy towards the end of the season because it was 240 for the whole year and under that So now he's capable of hitting a 1000 Ops See Manny's capable he just doesn't work as hard when he wants to for the 380 million contract he plays half a year And the Padres are not going to be in the division race we are five games out now and if there's a Collapse by the Dodgers which is not going to happen I'm not a Dodger fan but I'm hoping it happens to see the Padres stay consistent and move closer but the last time they were closer they were one game out of the Dodgers and what did they did do the next day they go to Colorado and lose So realizing the Padres had a shot and then they had a second shot climbing within two games of the Dodgers and now they've Fallen back again One thing to be very very suspicious and careful of are the New York Mets that are literally a game and a half away from the playoff spot and the Padres only are two games ahead of them And the Padres unfortunately got hammered by the tiebreaker with the Mets so the scary part about the season is the fact that the Mets have an easier schedule playing the White Sox and lower division teams which is spelling unfortunately and 89 win potential for the New York Mets and if the Padres don't stay hot they are in Jeopardy of fighting it out for the last playoff spot with the Mets which is not healthy when you're playing the Arizona Diamondbacks and the Dodgers in the last six to nine games Realizing Campsano started strong What I've noticed about Louise is that he continues to allow passed balls and they are credited to the picture of wild pitches of late there's been a sudden High increase of passed balls I don't know if he has a vision problem or he has a new glove But as far as the catching position there is something seriously been going on with Luis Camsano it doesn't happen with Iggy it doesn't happen with other catchers but there's been a huge sudden rise in the amount of passed balls in every time he's playing All I can say is the Mets have been coming hard and coming strong and I'm very concerned about the Mets more than any other team it's it's their only a 1.5 games out of the playoff spot and the Padres only have a cushion of two games With what 25 games to endure toward the end so this is a battle between the Mets and the Padres and unfortunately the Padres must win and continue to because the Mets sadly have the tiebreaker Another huge concern is Suarez he doesn't have any other pitch and even you and I could hit him eventually and most MLB right now are crushing him in the last month and a half or two months of the Season he is giving up runs in the 9th Inning consistently and Runners and first second or common I don't feel good with Suarez as a closer We are not going to win in the division I only if the Dodgers collapse will we should put the pedal to the metal but for right now just keep in a good position above the Mets and continue consistent winning series and let things fall as they might forget about the division forget about it you don't want to wear yourself out prior to playoff time

This year I'm guessing that to maximize chances not to face the Dodgers or D-backs in the first round of the playoffs, you have to win the division. Unfortunately, by dropping games that could have been won against the Twins, Cardinals and Rays, the Padres might find themselves fighting for their playoff lives un those last series against the Dodgers and D-backs. The Padres have to hope the Braves, Mets and Cubs all drop plenty of games to take the pressure off

My post season all-in battle mode line up would be: Arraez (L), Tatis (R), Profar (S), Machado (R), Merrill (L), Bogaerts (R), Cronenworth (L), higgy/campy (R), Kim(R). Merrill has to move up. It's time and he's earned it.
