Today is the first day that I actually felt like Roki would be a Dodger. It’s not looking good for Padres fans at all. Dodgers are making moves that scream that a deal is already done behind the scenes and that they are just trying to acquire international money before announcing it. For example the Lux trade now gets them from 5.1 million to 7.6 million in international bonus pool money. And they have told their 2025 class to wait until 2026 if possible. As a result they have lost their top two international signings for 2025. Either the Dodgers are completely incompetent or they have a deal with Roki already done

Probably most the most smooth brain takes ive heard. Pads aren't out on Roki imo but it's a way harder sell now, because you can't guarantee the same ppl and faculties will be there. This lawsuit isn't gunna end over night, it'll take years and these mostly end in a sell. MLB competitiveness all relies on a teams ability to draft and develop. NBA and NFL with salary caps have had repeat champs while MLB hasn't since the 90s-early 2000s

Sasaki might end up with the Padres, very real possibility. But, it’s hard to believe he’s looking at this organization and thinking this is where he needs to spend his prime years: 1. Bottom 5 Farm System 2. Massive aging contracts 3. Two best pitchers on team due $150M+ contracts next season, plus Musgrove coming off TJ until late 2026. Their 2026 opening rotation could be a mess, very easily. 4. No tv deal 5. Ownership disaster, litigation that could last years. They can’t even afford Higgy or Profar, it’s crazy to think they are going to add a $175M pitcher.

The Dodgers have a made it an ideal destination for free agent to want to come and play. While the padres have spent a billion dollars on the wrong type of players. Bogarts , Machado and tatis, The padres are cutting costs. Trying to trade players , window is rapidly closing and you want Roki to come save your organization. The dodgers are by far best choice plus a stacked farm system. He can come and learn from the best starting rotation. And not have the pressure to perform like an ace. I’ll be back in 2 weeks to see how this comment ages 😂🤞🏽

To think that the Padres litigation will resolve quickly just demonstrates your naivete in our legal system. Litigation that involves billions will take several years and a sale of the team. Until Padres' ownership is resolved, the payroll will be flat, most likely decreased year-over-year.

The “Dodgers will blow out your arm” thing is overplayed. They sign guys injury prone. They signed Buehler out of college knowing he needed TJ surgery right away. Glasnow has a long history. Kershaw has made over 400 starts. Etc..

You do realize that the Dodgers pay their deferred contract money annually in escrow accounts. While those accounts collect money, they gain interest that the Dodgers make money off of. They’re never going to lose money on those contracts. They continue to make bank off them. It’s bloody genius.

Baseball doesn’t need a salary cap/floor. The game evens up with a random 12 team playoff. Anyone can beat anyone in a 3, 5, 7 game series. If you put in a salary cap, you better go back to a 4 team playoff and stop letting mediocre 85 win teams into the playoffs.

Just got done listening to the video. You guys were the first channel I started listening to and that was during those Covid years. One thing I still love about your channel compared to others I listen to now that upload more often is your ability to give us your take on the metrics of baseball. Sure, I can listen to stat geeks all day but you guys have a more casual amateur (don't mean to diss you guys here but it's a compliment. If you were pros you'd be working for the Pads) approach towards the metrics and it helps us resonated better with the whole numbers game since you speak in laymen's terms. Whenever you pull up spotrac and explain why such and such pitcher is a good fit for our team, it helps us learners understand better. It'd be cool if you guys pulled this up more often in future vids!

The Padres have a Preller problem but he has blown gold dust in your eyes. Yes he has gone out there and gotten the big names but look at the contracts. Look at the failure to retain those names in trades. All Preller has done is throw someone else’s money around. Signing 36 shortstops and then having them play out of position as if they can magically learn and be great at a new position and keep some sense of stability. They can’t all do that. Some contracts and extensions are horrible. Not to mention he uses the farm to trade for names then make no real effort to sign afterwards. Padres better start looking inward instead of looking at the Dodgers as the ones they have to get by to get a ring. Preller will drive this team back to irrelevance in the next 3-4 yrs if they don’t take advantage of this window that window is slowly getting shut. Padres wanted a rivalry and the Dodgers have responded with a hammer fist and the padres little coins have gone flying everywhere. The best contract the Padres have made lately was the Niebla deal. Once teams start plucking away your staff because there is success but no ring to show for it, it’s downhill from there.

Since I keep hearing money is not a deciding factor, don’t you at least think he will then highly consider going to a team where there’s less risk? Is that SD or LA? Who has the means to offer him more success? Which team has more stability? Which team has the brand? Which team is setup for better future? Immediate and long term? Which team has shown willingness to win now? Which team has gotten better since the season ended a month ago? Which team is known globally organization-wise? What does SD do better than the Dodgers besides having an aged Darvish, who would 100% agree with everything stated above. I just can’t see Darvish being honest with himself and Sasaki telling him his future will be better in SD. If Darvish truly cares about the kid, he would not get him to go to SD.

A six man rotation is a MUST for Sasaki. He’s not going to risk his career getting injured his first year in MLB. Endorsement money comes with success. Can SD provide him a six man rotation? He’s also going to be playing for free the next several seasons. Can SD surround him with a winning team those years. A lot of risk going to SD, more than going to LA.

Padres are the only team the dodgers consider a dangerous team. In my Opinion theirs only 2 teams who can beat the dodgers: Padres and Braves. Braves are loaded. Have 3 Cy young candidates for next year if they resign fried. Padres are not far off. Padrs pitching is elite they need sasaki is a must if they want to be closer to dodgers.

I’m not sure why we use the Padres media talking point that WE took the Dodgers to game 5 in the NLDS. The truth is we won 2 ganes. The Dodgers won 3. THEY took us to 5 ganes after we were up 2-1 with a chance to clinch at Petco. Since when is 24 scoreless innings a great series? It was a good 2 ganes. That’s it. We have to start holding this team and organization accountable. We have choked in the playoffs three times in five years. Remember when we bullied the Dodgers for being chokers and having a Mickey Mouse ring? Now we don’t call it choking because it’s us? C’mon guys! SD has to do better as a fan base.

Fair assesment. I think both things are true. We played a great season, decent post season. to implode like that (24 scoreless innings) is not great and has to be called out by us and addressed by Preller and Shildt.

I hear the exact same talking points from Padres media no matter what I’m listening to or watching. No one is authentic or has an original thought or criticism about this team and organization. It’s been reported that we are cutting another 40 million from payroll in 2025 and the actins as well as non actions line up with this. Allowing Higgy to sign with Rangers for 5 million. Are they serious? No one will call them out. It’s all about having faith and keeping the faith. What about THEM having faith in their FANS for a change? What about THEM rewarding is for showing up semimonthly unconditionally win or lose? Faith without works is dead according to the good book. We have faith and now we need the works to match it. I’m tired of being attacked by the nov and being called a doomer and not a fan for pointing out what I see and being real about it. It’s disheartening.
