from Gerry- I was a 5th grade teacher so I know how hectic that last week can be. Our last day was always Grandfriends' day with the Christmas program. All grandparents came back to the classroom and it was my/our job to entertain them for about an hour. Dismissal at noon and then vacation!!! I see a spinning wheel in the background. I am a spinner, dyer and weaver. I am really enjoying your vlogmas videos. Take care and God bless.

from Gerry- I'm enjoying your Vlogmas posts! Your blanket will be beautiful whenever it gets finished. I just realized that I don't have any sox on needles. Usually that's my go to when I have no need to make something. Perhaps after Christmas. No snow yet near Harrisburg PA. I love the yarn combo of orange and pinks. Stay warm and be blessed.

from Gerry- Yes December is so busy and full. I have 3 breakfasts to attend this week. I love them, but again, the events pull you away from finishing all that we crafters decided to make for the holidays. I have one more scarf to warp. Take time to enjoy the Reason for the season. Blessings.

from Gerry- Handmade gifts are wonderful but it is stressful trying to get them all done. I finished weaving my 5 scarfs. They go to the ladies Bible study group. One more to do for my daughter-in-law. Your bags are adorable. Your shawl is stunning! We have a whole house generator. It was a great investment. Take care and God bless.

from Gerry- I put my sweater aside ( I need to pick up stitches for the sleeves ) because the Christmas gifts need to get done. I am on scarf #5 for my Bible study. The Christmas breakfast is Dec. 11. Then I have a another scarf to weave for my daughter-in-law but I won't see her until Christmas Day. The stitch markers are really cute. Congratulations on 30 years! We just celebrated out 21st. This is a second marriage for us and so to have 21 years is such a blessing.

Sounds like those projects will keep you plenty busy until Christmas, lol. Congratulations on 21 years to you!

from Gerry- I am knitting an Angled Scarf from Missouri Star. You start with 3 stitches and increase each row to get to 44 stitches. Then you knit short rows to build directional triangles one on top of the other. It's all knitted and fun to watch the triangles appear. God bless.
@michellesfiberstudioАй бұрын
That sounds like a really fun pattern. I'm going to have to check it out.
@peterivkovich2314Ай бұрын
from Gerry- I would also pick one needle size because to constantly use the same yarn would drive me crazy. You can knit thinner or thicker on the same size needle size so that would also give variety. I'm glad that in real life I don't have to make that choice. I am knitting a bulky wt. Lion Brand kit- a 4 color cardigan. Stay well and God bless.

from Gerry- It's unusual for me not to have some socks going because it is easy to take with you. But I don't have any on my needles right now. I am finishing up a sweater. I have to pick up stitches for the front button band and the collar. I purchased a triangle loom so I am spending a lot of time with that. Be blessed.

from Gerry- I'm glad your school year has had a good beginning. I retired in 2012 from my 5th grade. I loved teaching, but I love my free time more. I have just ordered a triangle loom and I will be weaving a number of cowls for Christmas gifts. I finished my flirty shawl. It looks good. Have a blessed week.

Thank you! That loom should make quick work of those cowls.

from Gerry - I am on the lace part of my Flirty shawl. I hope to finish it this week. Thanks for the heel explanation. It's something like the traditional heel that I've doing forever. I bought the book 52 Weeks of Socks to challenge myself and boy does it! Lots of different heels. I made 3 of them and had to put it aside because life is more than socks! Have a blessed week.
@michellesfiberstudio3 ай бұрын
You're almost done with your shawl! I'm glad the heel explanation was helpful. Life is definitely more than socks, but sometimes it is fun to challenge ourselves.
@peterivkovich23143 ай бұрын
from Gerry- Not familiar with the OMG heel. Perhaps you can explain more when you get there. Blessings for the new school year.
@michellesfiberstudio3 ай бұрын
The OMG heel is a short row heel and is in a sock pattern by Megan Williams. I've never made the socks in her pattern, but I use the heel for everything. I have a link to the pattern in my show notes, and I will try to remember to explain it a little bit more next time.
@peterivkovich23143 ай бұрын
from Gerry- Your Flirty is so pretty. My will look different because I did not originally do the first section 3x. It will still be pretty. though. I have been weaving scarves for Christmas gifts so It will be a while before I finish Flirty. It seems to be a pattern that can be altered easily. If I make it again, I would prefer a more even triangle. Your top should be beautiful! Blessings.
@michellesfiberstudio3 ай бұрын
Thank you. Isn't that the great thing about knitting? Once we get the hang of things, we can make it our own! I'm sure your Flirty will be just as beautiful when it is done.

from Gerry- Marta's shawl is beautiful. Still working on my Flirty- you are ahead of me. My main craft is quilting and right now I am weaving scarves for Christmas gifts so I don't knit much each week. Random fact: knitting was found in the pyramids. Be blessed.
@michellesfiberstudio4 ай бұрын
I used to quilt, too, but it has been quite some time since I've really sat down at my sewing machine. Someday I'd love to get back to it.
@peterivkovich23144 ай бұрын
from Gerry- I had trouble with the Flirty shawl. I did not do enough repeats so mine looks very different than yours. I still need to repeat because my stitch count is still too low. I'll just keep repeating until I get there. I am using a gradient so I'm not worried about the colors. God bless.
@michellesfiberstudio4 ай бұрын
I had issues with keeping my stitch count straight, too. Fortunately, it is an easy one to fudge!
