Thanks. I just bought one of these on eBay and the instructions were extremely confusing. It didn't help that the unit didn't come with the graph!

Hold it vertically until the bullet is captured, then turn it horizontal. After some years mine malfunctioned. They told me to send it to them for calibration which I did. They sent me a new one; no charge.

I checked mine with the RCBS check weights and it is right on the money. Thanks Johnny for your time.

I had one since they came out. They are very accurate. I've used them on foundry lead and they do give you a reading of 0-1 for pure lead (3-5) Brinell. And 9-10 for LINOTYPE (22-24) Brinell. You can even chart the hardening over time. I have compleat faith in mine. Allows you to test hardness of unknown alloys so you can use that knowledge to create any alloy you want.

I cant see how this system can give an accurate ,repeatable reading, as the point is being driven into the sample in a rotating motion, this must lead to inaccuracy, the point should be pushed into the sample in a straight line to give a true reading.

I have owned a Saeco lead hardness tester for about 23 years. It works superbly good and I find it to be accurate. I purchased mine from Midway and paid about $80.00 for it at the time. Very well done video.

Thanks for the video. I have been casting for 30 years. Been using wheel weights all this time. It has worked fine for my handgun loads but now I am looking into casting rifle bullets. Been thinking about getting some kind of tester.
