It does look amazing. Benny spinning his piano round at 0:12 - love it! And the bit at 0;30 with the total eclipse background looks incredible. My cousin went to this, she said it was amazing

@@SrawberrySunday2 Nah. Adam Lambert has been killing it as Freddie's stand-in for over a decade now. Why rely on technology if you don't have to?

The only thing that I would remove was the little joking banter from the avatars between songs that actually felt creepy since you know its a computer talking to you ... just have the avatars sing the songs and the show would be great!

Just became aware of this in 2024. It may not be perfect now, but in a few years, this will be amazing. There are so many possibilities and things to talk about. 1. This is a cool way to bring back older artists as they were in their youth with tight, youthful faces and bodies instead of in their senior years. It will be exciting to experience a "real" 20-something Duran Duran rather than a current 60-something Duran Duran. 2. Does this technology and process only work for entertainers who are still alive or can it work for those who are deceased? Since Abba members are still alive, they are able to provide their input for the show. If deceased, they can't contribute and a third-party might not give the best art direction without the actual artist being there. A James Brown concert several decades later wouldn't be the same without the real man or his associates at that time, giving their creative feedback. 3. This type of AI/VR redeux concert might make sense for some older music artists like Abba, Michael Jackson or Frank Sinatra, but not others. Some artists from the past, like punk and hard rock bands such as Black Flag, Dead Kennedys, etc., may have had rowdy, aggressive crowds during their hey-day. So it might be difficult for older fans of the bands to show up at an avatar concert with a bunch of younger fans who start a mosh pit or start getting violent in the crowd. The older fans may have enjoyed the wild aggression and craziness when they were younger, but not now in their middle-age or senior years. 4. For now, it seems this technology is only being used to recreate large theatrical concerts with bright lights and special FX. Once the tech improves, can it be used to simulate smaller concerts that took place in bars, clubs and smaller venues instead of an arena with flashing lights? For many rock fans, some of their best concert experiences were in venues like CBGBs and similar. It would be cool for young and old Bette Midler fans to re-experience her famous 1971 performance at the Continental Baths again. 5. If this technology becomes affordable for the public, people could create their own avatar before their death and then have the avatar show up at their own funeral. 6. Instead of watching movies, we could interact with them. Imagine Rhett Butler sitting on your couch, looking you in the eyes and telling you "Frankly, my dear, I don't give a damn." You could converse with C-3PO or R2D2 from Star Wars or dance along with Fred Astaire. 7. If someone has lost a pet, they could have an avatar of the animal "living" in the house as if they were still alive. You wouldn't be able to touch it, but seeing a realistic-looking version of your deceased "Fluffy" jumping on your sofa might make you happy. If the technology becomes really good, your "reincarnated" pet could shed fur around the house and maybe poop in your slippers... with NO odor. 8. When married couples get older and lose their looks, they could wear a simulation bodysuit and have a younger, more attractive version of themselves projected onto the suit. If you're in your 60s and have been married for over 30 years, you could make love to your spouse who, once again, looks the way he/she did when you first started dating. And the best thing is, you can touch each other. No more facelifts. No more cheating. It may be too soon for these ideas and questions, but this Abba concert gives us an exciting glimpse into the future of possibilities. The Apple Vision Pro is something to be excited about too.
