Again: pretty late to this particular party! Loved the rearrangement of this track - especially the simplification - but I don't think your vocals require as much faffing around with: there's a good voice amidst all that processing waiting to be set free, and I think an 'independent' producer would remove the myriad layers of processing you're hiding behind to reveal more of the natural talent lying underneath. This would allow the contrast of the affected vocals to have much greater impact from their sparsity when they are introduced later on. Anyways, just my penny's worth; hey, what do I know...!?
