Just had a 2nd one yesterday. 1st one in 2013. Report emailed to me. All is good. Test took 45 minutes I guess and was done exactly as shown here. The only thing, yes, the tech did press the "Tool" hard against my chest, briefly in a couple places. All you need for this test is patience to lay on your side for 45 minutes.

Why do they’ve pressed so hard, when they do echogram test? Anytime, I get this test done. My bones are bruised from them, pressing so hard. Especially in the middle of my chest. It’s very painful. Is their a reason why they’ve pressed so hard?

No, no, no, and no, with a small yes. Unfortunately the cardiologists are stuck in the 1990's and generally have not adopted contemporary, evidenced based research. I am a health professional and have a mind that can critically think. It is true that whole and minimally unprocessed foods should be eaten, however for most people with metabolic syndrome, especially when Insulin Resistance is present, many veggies grown below the ground, and sweet corn, have too many carbs. and it's our body's inability to process carbohydrate that is the root cause. Saturated fat will not kill you, but conversely many processed oils do us harm. Robert Lustig, Sten Ekberg, Jason Fung , Ken Berry, Nina Teicholz; just to name some here on You Tube offer much more evidenced-based education. I recently heard with my own ears a cardiologist say that he doesnt bother suggesting weight loss to patients as "no-one sticks to diets". I rest my case.

My husband was admitted on monday with pneumonia and he struggled to breath. Physician told us that he has Pulmonary Hypertension. They have done alot of test, and all was clear except for his ProPnb levels is very high. They did an ECG today which looked ok, and will be doing an Echo tomorrow. He has never been in hospital or been sick ever except for his underactive thyroid and cholesterol. Im very stressed out that the doctors said he has Pulmonary Hypertension.

have had paroxysmal afib for some years, that I know. Only a few small episodes a year which only lasted maybe a minute or two. I have had a breathing issue during this time where I occasionally felt as if I needed to take a deep breath to catch up. One time I was dizzy for longer than I thought I should be and had shortness of breath and I felt the need to have a urgent care visit. 6 hours of looking and testing and they finally said I must have a PE. That was the first of many misdiagnosis and these came from ER Doctors and a cardiologist. I have had 3 echos within a year and so far the heart is good, no thickening, bad valves, calcium or other blockage. Good heart, for now H'ray!. I am 81 and before a month ago very active beyond what people would expect. I am only 140 lbs and still toss around 90lb bags of concrete working on my house. Then came a surprise, something happened weeks ago and I was in ER, BP 55/50 rate 150. Everything stabilized with IV meds and after a few hours sent home with the diagnosis paroxysmal afib. I have not had but one eposode where my normal BP of 128/80 rate 77 dropped to 108/70 but the rate rose to a little over 80. This lasted about 10 minutes then went away. I do deep breathing excerize and a hot shower and everything stabilizes. I have been on eliquis for 4 years because then I was told I had a PE and had to take it, maybe that misdiagnosis was a savior if I do in fact have afib. I do have some palpitations but not always, no pains, stabbing pressure etc. I think at this time I need to see a Electrophysiologist for a diffenitive diagnosis. My current cardiologist told me to take Metoprolol 25 a day and come back in 4 months. Don't like this med as it puts me in Bradycardia and that is as dreadful as the afib except it is all day where the afib can be minutes every once in a while. Still trying to figure that out. Well that is my current story on this chapter of my life. Comment if you'd like, appreciated. Tell me of your stories of meds especially metoprolol. Best to all.

I had a chemical stress test a couple of years ago, and I was not as informed at the time. Thankfully, the dobutamine worked to get me to the desired heart rate. They mentioned something to me about maybe using adenosine if it hadn’t reached the target level. Now that I have been researching that drug, if they had given me that without explaining to me how I would feel, that would be some Jerry Springerlike interactions going on in that lab.

Untreated afib will get worse. It leads to HF. Do what you need to do to stop the Afib. Do not think to just “live with it”
