Can you show the process of how you sit the engine on the k-member in your next video? I am trying to do the same and cant find a good video that shows the fitment to plate/engine.

A drag SN95 deletes the front sway bar, because it takes weight off the nose and sway bars are for corners. ;-) So you don't need to worry about that. Team Z has a great rear drag sway bar and upper control arm assembly for the rear of the car. Love the videos BTW! I'm still a fan of Ford engines in a Mustang, but I do understand the LS hype, it's just not for me.

Thanks for the tip! Just doing the LS for cheap power with turbo. If I could afford it I would love to do a coyote in a heartbeat!

@@kapsgarage4564 Right, Ford Modular is not cheap to build. I have a '98 Mustang 4.6 2 valve that I'm just going to stuff a cam in it, use the carb Edelbrock intake and the MSD timing box. Looking for 12 seconds in a dedicated lightened drag car. More of a fun car than something super fast. Good to learn to bracket race with. Good luck with your project. I love seeing SN95 drag builds!

Flowtech up and forward headers from summit. I have only test fit them so far and it looks like they'll work fine both up and forward, or down and forward. I'll be replacing the brake master with a strange manual which will delete the booster and move the lines to come out toward the fender. I don't think they'll fit without swapping the brake master.

any updates on this? I was building an ls swapped sn95, but lost interest. Now I'm building a 95 with a junkyard explorer gt40 headed motor... If you get this thing together, we need to compare time slips to remind me that I made a mistake... haha

Light is right. Not only does it take less hp to go fast, but it’s a lot easier on the driveline. Just commenting as I watch.

@@kapsgarage4564 The Mustang is rejecting the Chevy motor! LOL, just kidding, it's your car build it the way you want. I love the SN95 as I have one, a '98 GT and I'm doing the same thing, building a budget drag only car. I'm using what I have, the 4.6 NPI engine with an SVO intake and a Cobra twin bladed throttle body. Should get into the 12s easy with a big cam and making it really light. I'll keep and eye on your build, might pick up a trick or two from you. I like the hood pins. Oh, go to the junk yard get another space saver spare, take that and the one you have and put them up front. It will make the car easy to move until you get your racing rims and tires up front. This is what I have done and even the wife can steer the thing when I roll it out of the garage.

Mileage and ring gap don't go hand in hand, I've seen high mileage ls motors with the ring gap still in the high teens. You'll probably be fine with a smaller turbo on lower boost, probably. I would swap the cam, that's a cheap and easy 50+ hp. I would also upgrade the oil pump, 120 is cheap insurance. I'm doing a very similar sn95 build, should be getting started on it very soon.
@kapsgarage4564
@kapsgarage4564 2 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the advice. I guess I thought ring gap was for managing compression/blow-by from the boost but I see now it's to prevent the ring ends from touching due to increased expansion. I'll probably do the upgrades after I get everything built and running. With this being my first build I'll be adjusting my plans as I go a lot.

@@kapsgarage4564 I hear ya, sometimes you can't let perfect hold of the progress of good enough. Have you bought your turbo yet, or is that a surprise? You can buy a ss2 cam with some pac 1218 springs for about $350.... not only pick up some good gains, but it'll sound like a race car too.

I haven't bought a turbo yet. Not sure what I'll go with but whatever it is will be on the cheaper side. I'm currently trying to figure out what kind of shocks to get for the front that'll work well with the UPR coilover sleeve thingy. Any recommendation?

@@kapsgarage4564 take a look at the eBay gt45. Would be a good budget friendly turbo (under 200 bucks) and will make 500-600 hp. Are you going to run decapped injectors or???? Also, have you considered keeping things real simple and just spray it with a 125-150 shot?
@kapsgarage4564
@kapsgarage4564 2 жыл бұрын
Yep I've been thinking about going with the gt45. For injectors I was thinking something like snakeater injectors. The biggest reason I want to go turbo is to learn how to build turbo setup, exhaust, welding and all that.
