A live perfect rendition of the magnificent instrumental-into-a-song 'One For All'...has existed all this time and I didn't know? Must've died and gone to heaven...I'd have loved to have heard him do this on one of the dozens of live gigs I caught of the man in the 80s/90s. Always thought, from this, he should/could do more instrumentals as per the section in 'The Same Old Rock'...I was booked to support him once in Oxford but the manager/wife vetoed it...

Brings back the magic of the moment, how does it feel - really good to be still alive and kicking after all of these years Roy. Miss the old days of Les Cousins and smoking backstage at Mothers! You still rock and will ever have a special place in my memories. Red Leb

Canada had Gordon Lightfoot, the UK had Pentangle. It’s a shame they didn’t cross the pond back then, but KZbin is making them known to North American audiences. Even young American artists are now covering Willie O’Winsbury.

What a talentless, unrhythmic, boring arse of a fuckwit. I'd rather have unanesthetised root canal than listen to a single note note of this pompous prick. Emperor's new clothes anyone?

Saw Roy many times. One time, at the Round House he went to the microphone and spent the whole time rabbiting on about a spider crawling up his microphone stand. Got to love that.

One of the best folk bands in to come out of the UK. All top flight musicians. I've been listening to them for years. My main instrument is drums and percussion. Terry Cox had all the ruduments and I always admired his style and pure genius. Two of the best folk guitarists, Bert and John RIP and the very beautifully understated Jacqui Mcshee. I met Danny Thompson in 1994 in Watford harlequin shopping centre in the UK. I was holding the door open for whoever was behind me and low and behold it was Danny Thompson. He was a true English gentleman and very personable. I shook his hand and we spoke for a while. Initially my wife thought he may of been one of my old school teachers ☺ Great band that I still listen to 45 year's on since I first heard them.

In one iteration or another, particularly with Nick Drake and John Martyn, Danny Thompson has been the soundtrack of my life. This recording was made the year I was born!! Also played bass on the best song ever recorded: David Sylvian's "Orpheus." kzbin.info/www/bejne/oJOlh2yDmN2oqdk Bless you Danny. Thanks mate.

I'm 26 and I don't know much about life really. But I know quite a good deal about music after researching a lot and working as a Radio DJ for several years in three different countries and so on. Nothing compares to Cohen. Nothing has never touched me more in an artistic sense than what Cohen has achieved. He's just the best.

Quintessential Englishman, people wanting to immigrate to these shores should have to answer questions on his remarkable lyrics. First saw him in 1984 at the stonehenge free festival when I was 16 and subsequently got to just about every gig he played in the south east for for the following ten years. W Nowadays when everyone has gone to bed I'll listen to him yearn for those times again . Love you Roy

OK, having just been blown away by John Renbourne, now I am stopped dead in my tracks by their drummer... doing a fast pace, kick-ass, rudiment-intensive solo with BRUSHES! Does anyone realize how difficult that is, especially at that tempo? Please call the medics, my brains tend to explode in the presence of such gifted players as these young musicians of Pentangle

First heard Roy Harper in 1970 in Manchester. Instantly I was drawn in. His voice often vulnerable, sometimes mournful, sometimes powerful, is a perfect match for his precise, innovative, soft then percussive guitar style. Both voice and guitar perfectly work with his rich lyrics. He's so beyond the popular view, sadly under-appreciated, with Stormcock being his masterpiece, in my opinion. Thank you so much, Roy Harper. -Doug Pratt, Atlanta, Georgia, USA
