Wrong on two counts. The rails are welded, so no clickety clack, although in New South Wales the ride can be a little rough. And all meals are chef prepared in on board kitchens and feature local ingredients.

What an incredible experience, just shows what a vast continent Australia really is! The train journey is a perfect way to get to the other side if you have the time, why fly! Plus the journey from London must've been brilliant flying direct to Perth. Enjoy yourselves can't wait to follow as I am plotting WA for later in 2024.

Great video we are doing it in a few weeks. Can I ask what happens to your cabin bags when you do the Blue Mountains? I didn't see many people in video with bags, so do leave in cabin then pick up in Sydney. Thanks
@wandering_yorkshireman9 ай бұрын
Thanks you. Your suitcases are stored on the train with no access to them. That’s why you take cabin bags with you. When you leave the train for the blue mountains your suitcases and cabin bags carry on to Sydney where they are waiting for you on the platform. 👍
