back in time where internet and youtube is not prominent like nowadays, i was dying recording the entire movie through my tape recorder and listened to it every night before going to sleep, learn to play a recorder to cover the ost, how i really love Mononoke Hime, i remember roamed entire CD and Music Dept Store in my town tried to get the official OST and couldn't find it, oh such treasure how years later the access is easy to hear the OST again and chance to see Joe Hisaishi conduct the ochestra through my laptop

this version is really horrible. I dont say the singerin is bad, but she doesnt bring the feeling as the real one.

At 14:00, probably a great soprano, but very too much vibrato to my mind (see her in concert in France, and I had the same feeling), this is probably deserving the global impression and result... even if the whole concert was great.

歌手の方、別の舞台なら素晴らしいんだろうけど、この世界観には合わない。正直、台無しにしてる。

One of two things. Either I have no hearing, or the vocalist has.

Absolutely masterful performance, thank you so much for sharing this master at work.
It all began w/ the Princess Mononoke Image Album, then officially took off w/ the movie soundtrack (Japanese audio first, then the English version w/ Sasha Lazard). Some songs in the Image Album made it to the movie, even while some got left out. And the Princess Mononoke music's gotten more improved.
The soprano voice is very good but I don't like it in this masterpiece. I prefer Masako Hayashi's interpretation

It was great until the singer... The emotions isnt there i cant feel it. She is a great singer just not for this song. To much vibrato...

Ive been to a Joe Hisaishi concert played by a western orchestra, and generally the western soloists (violin solo included) are play/sung in a totally different style (western style?) and is quite frustrating to listen to. Imagine if an Asian band played Mahler in an oriental style? Outrage and ridicule would ensue.

Ideally they'd fly the original singers for the music on a world tour but it's nearly impossible. Seeing him work with different musicians to make his music accessible to everyone no matter what makes me so grateful. If he refused to conduct without his original team, I probably never would have been able to see him conduct in Toronto. It's probably quite the experience for the musicians playing his music publicly for the first time. Still can't believe he visited Toronto twice, lol!

Incredible! He plays a "big" piano. I heard him here in Jacksonville, FL back in 2021, I think. His Brahms 2 was amazing!

The soprano ‘s voice is really heavy for this song. Joe should choose a lyric or light soprano for this.

I actually disagree, I think it adds a depth the original didn't have. I love the original but the emotion shines can't imagine what the in-person experience must have been like.
