I hope this ‘pastor’ helped find this man somewhere to live?? It’s more than rolling down the window and saying hi: “14 What doth it profit, my brethren, though a man say he hath faith, and have not works? can faith save him? 15 If a brother or sister be naked, and destitute of daily food, 16 And one of you say unto them, Depart in peace, be ye warmed and filled; notwithstanding ye give them not those things which are needful to the body; what doth it profit? 17 Even so faith, if it hath not works, is dead, being alone.” James 2:14-17.

I am praying - that means the Spirit guided me to pray- for the homeless brothers and sisters in Christ in the USA. There are so many wealthy Christians in the US and so many Christians living on the streets some even with children. It is a shame and the Lord showed me afterwards Ezekiel 34: I myself will tend my sheep and have them lie down, declares the Sovereign Lord. I will search for the lost and bring back the strays. I will bind up the injured and strengthen the weak, but the sleek and the strong I will destroy. I will shepherd the flock with justice......As for you, my flock, this is what the Sovereign Lord says: I will judge between one sheep and another, and between rams and goats. some might argue this is about Israel, yes it was but the OT is a shadow and Christ is the reality of those shadows. “They also will answer, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry or thirsty or a stranger or needing clothes or sick or in prison, and did not help you?’ “He will reply, ‘Truly I tell you, whatever you did not do for one of the least of these, you did not do for me.’ “Then they will go away to eternal punishment, but the righteous to eternal life.” Matthew 25: 44-46 “Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father in heaven. Many will say to Me in that day, ‘Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in Your name, cast out demons in Your name, and done many wonders in Your name?’ And then I will declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness!’ Matthew 7:22 Being rich and brothers and sisters sitting outside in the freezing cold has for me nothing to do with Christianity. You eat the curds, clothe yourselves with the wool and slaughter the choice animals, but you do not take care of the flock. You have not strengthened the weak or healed the sick or bound up the injured. You have not brought back the strays or searched for the lost. You have ruled them harshly and brutally. So they were scattered because there was no shepherd, and when they were scattered they became food for all the wild animals.

“Why are you homeless?” Is such a condescending question. Its possible to help this community without insulting them.

The church should take him on as a missionary to the homeless.

I was homeless for 8 years and Jesus was working on me all the time I was a Believer who backslidden at the end of my last year there I had been warned the whole year by God strangers coming up to me telling me it's time to go home with your mom and I wouldn't listen I was stubborn and prideful and finally God hit me with congestive heart failure diabetes and a bulging disc I couldn't even walk I had an ambulance picked me up I stayed 5 days in a hospital 44 days all together in a healthcare center and Hospital I was in bed most of the time wearing diapers because I have blood clots in my legs and they wouldn't let me walk I got to come home with my mom she took care of me for the first few months then I got to take care of her because she had to have open heart surgery and then when she passed away she left me a house God is good and I pray for this man that the same thing happens for him

Job does not secured anything. I took care of children and just because i did not clean the parents mess or wash the dishes. I got fired When my job was only cleaning up the children stuff as a nanny. People are evil. Just because i felt taken advantage and didnt clean their dirty crap. I never stole anything. Never put the kids in danger. I actually when abouve and beyond. What for? For nothing. And apparently they were Christians. Not all Christians are nice ppl. They just use gods name . If your an adult or even 14 years old . You should pick up after yourself!! This what makes me not believe. These ppl are not reall Christians.

Even people in accommodation Can be isolated This fellow seems to have more contact with people In spite of his situation!

"loving the poor"....i am so sorry that makes me want to cry. We dont love the poor. I have known the Lord for years, lost everything, and had to go through being homeless and shelters and found when everything fell apart my church turned me to government programs and even the ministers in the church run shelters were cruel. To love the poor .... Good grief, we don't know what that looks like....sometimes it is just people think a tolietry kit or bowl of soup is enough. Other times so called Christians are cruel. To hear him say it so gently, and to realize that is the same gentleness we should show these lost lambs...gosh, hurts from personal experience and just hurts because we should care and love the poor and go above and beyond to care for theur physical and spiritual needs. More than just assuming they need a job or are on drugs.

Most Christians are hypocrites, they are not gonna help out another Christian much really. Ungodly people help out each other no doubt, sad is it?, either financial struggle, career, Etc.

I've never really had a home.. you know my family's history of chronic alcoholism and poverty, so my home is with you. My faith is in you. My trust is in you. Not what is in the world, and I can't wait to see you in heaven.

Jesus cares for the poor Jesus once said to a man who followed all the Commandments his whole life. But when jesus asked him, to give all his money to the poor, and follow him. The man said "i cant" Gods love for us is not measured by wealth. It is so much more than that

Scripture talks about leaving this man saying, be warned and filled without helping him is sin. This is what’s wrong with the American Church and to stay away from them. I’m homeless and I stay away from these people, they will hurt you more than anyone. There are no real Christians in America. Period.

I am in the risk to be homeless, i don't live in America, but i believe God is my protector. I spent a lot of time in loneliness, my family and my parents starting rejecting me beginning of my childhood, and in time this have increased si badly. Recent i have lost my job because i don't have experience enough, and everyone seeks experience. But i don't give up, i pray for my family and God be with me. This situations change you dramatically. :( Everyone can be in this situation if is fired by his job or anything like this!

I wonder, can homeless people go to churches and seek help? Or are they turned away?

If you can use anything Lord, you can use me!🎵 God doesn't need perfect vessels, or 'beautiful' vessels, He only needs WILLING vessels. I have come to the conclusion recently (and I've been homeless too), that one of the best healing ointments for all of the deep woes of life, is serving God, and being HIS hands and feet to a dying and broken world. And besides, the Bible says that 'He is near to the broken hearted'. Our prayers should always be "Lord, I know that you are a GOOD father, and that you loved us so much, that you sent your only so to die, -in our place- on the cross, and because of that, I love you back, and care for the things that burden you. Please, break my heart for the things that break yours."

If it brings anybody comfort, Jesus was homeless while He was in ministry on this earth. Also was Elijah, and you could argue all of the apostles, except for Peter (who still lived and went everywhere the other apostles did). Jesus knows!

Proverbs 31:8-9 Open your mouth for the mute, for the rights of all who are destitute. Open your mouth, judge righteously, defend the rights of the poor and needy.

The 'pastor' says he doesnt know how to help the poor? really? how bout he empty his pockets and go sleep on the street for a week. maybe then he will understand. but its very unlikely he will do that because im sure he feels he donates and gets his tax deduction. then asks the flock to pad the pockets of the church 'for the poor'
