The L train uses a different version of CBTC compared to the one being implemented everywhere now, so unless it runs on CBTC bypass it would not run sufficiently

From what’s been going around, it’s only temporary. It’s mainly a test to see how well CBTC works with the R179s on Queens Blvd.

My opinion for M train on the R179, it does make more sense to the M line as the R179.

Yup, it adds fleet diversity so R160's aren't the only thing there.

I agree. Instead of the R160, M needs to be update for being on the R179. Like I get the M been on the R160 since the orange M started in 2010. It is time to update M to R179. Let M get a chance to be on the R179 already not being the same R160.
