Kill a eco system after that many years is a head scratcher. Why not just install a fish ladder.

why on every dam project do they always put logs and rocks where nature did not put them.?. let the stream figure out it's original flow.

Keeps things from washing out I guess, and provide habitat for fish

its part of every restoration project. woody material is important for habitat and erosion control. its just jumpstarting natures process.

Great video and sucess story "A Watershed Restored" I am so thank ful to The Tualatin Riverkeepers, Clean Water Services, and the other individuals and organizations, [whether mentioned here or not] for what you all do to maintain and improve water quality on the Tualatin River, which contributes to the overall quality of the Willamette River and Columbia River.

Where can I find more information on this project? Current status and progress, please!

Hi Ben! Check out the Tree for All case study (www.jointreeforall.org/wapato-lake) and USFW's page on the refuge (www.fws.gov/refuge/wapato_lake/). If you're wondering when the refuge will be open to the public, USFW would be your resource. If either of these options don't get your questions answered, please call 503.681.3600 and ask for Julie.

Loved your video. We make a deer repellent used to protect plants in soil & water conservation projects called Plantskydd.

What a great way to show the benefits of re-cycling water - beer is a fun way to convert folks to the idea. And I love the phrase "Clean water is closer than you think". Thank you! Mary Bea

Luke Morter long ago from cherry grove to the Hillsboro water resavor there was a large run of Chinook salmon then coho then came winter steelhead, now those fish are nearly gone.
@derekhallman97704 жыл бұрын
@@Lure-Benson how long ago - and do the steelhead go above lees falls? I was out for a hike yesterday and it was a beautiful stream, looked like great habitat if it didnt run through so much developed land

@@Lure-Benson haha just stumbled across this video again and saw your reply. Yeah I need to explore that area more. I live in Yamhill so mostly fish that. They mentioned that some was at dairy Creek which I am not sure where that crosses the tualatin. But I do know that I go over dairy Creek if I am headed towards vernonia

Hi all! I'm a college student writing a paper on this project. I would like to help raise awareness to the renewable wastewater movement here in Oregon. If anyone would like to help me by taking my survey I would really appreciate all the input I can get. Thank you in advance! That survey can be found at the following link:www.surveymonkey.com/s/GXB8CZ6
