21:57 Stating that Robert's home was "never" in any danger is very misleading. The burn zone got within one block of his house.

She sounds like she was bipolar, but may have also been Bipolar I, not just Bipolar II, because of her delusions. Doctors told her son she might conceivably jump from a window due to falsely believing the place was on fire. Looking at it that way, she could be considered a danger to self. Severity of her symptoms probably was not consistent all her life.

i hated the t.v. movie too simply because they made it like Jimmy s father was not the bio dad. you know they were saying Jimmy s mother was a whore without using the word. I can t count the number of James Dean biograpthie I read, some were great, some where alful but even the most great or bad not one hinted Veron was not Jimmy s dad . As so as the movie went there I turned it off

Thaank you sir for sharing your thoughts and sharing not only your personal experiences but also possesions of Mr Dean. It really makes me feel like i somehow knew Mr Dean seeing items that were a part of his life.

Mr. Marcus Winslow, thank you for this wonderful video about James! I want to come out to Fairmount Indiana to see everything about James. He was a true legend and I believe no one could ever take his place. I believe he was one of the finest people who ever walked the face of this earth. One of the things I was really sad about was his relationship with Pier Angeli. She was a beautiful woman who really loved James and James truly loved her as well. It's so sad that they weren't allow to get married, but her mother put an end to their relationship. To many people and adoring fans, they were perfect together. May God rest both their souls, they were without a doubt the best !

I have watched documentaries and read books about Jimmie Dean. Watching this dispelled some untruths such as Jimmie Dean's father supposed abandonment of Jimmie. And the fact that Dean's father was actually a good man stuck in circumstances (WWII, death of his wife, his economic means, and what was best for Jimmie). Nice to hear from Mr. Winslow Jr. who knew Jimmie. Very entertaining and educational about someone who is an American Icon.

It's quite a struggle when your husband leaves you at the altar as he isn't sure whether he wants to tell you he has Syphilis. He eluded you (Mary) for a year, contemplating whether he will be upfront or in concealment mode. He comes back to wed you one year later, but chooses to conceal his infection. Years later, your husband has his late stage syphilis infection occur, in which his body is plastered with huge blisters. You now realize your husband knew he had the infection all along, and did not tell you. It has now affected not only his health but YOURS. Sadly, Mary realizes her children are now immunocompromised, as well. Your doctors tell you all to continue to take the poisonous blue mass mercury pills, which further destroy your families health, both mentally and physically! By the 1860's, Mary realized that one lie had been the cause for so much tragedy. Her angry outbursts upon her husband, which were looked at undeserving, were actually entirely deserving. History was eventually crafted to show that Mary was an awful person, but, if only Abe had been honest, we may have seen a different Mary. How sad Abe would be to know his concealment would be cause for his Wife's eternal damnation. How angry he would have been to know how historian’s who love him, who are cult-like about his life, have trashed his sweet Mollie! I believe I’d rise from my grave to abolish those Lincolnites. Like Momma said, the truth always comes out in the end, no matter how hard anyone tries to hide it or stop it- Lies are just a temporary delay to the inevitable! Respect and listen to your Momma, or your daughter may end up like poor sad Mary!

They think that because Jean Baker published an abomination of a book in 1987 that is filled with fabrications and untrue stories based off of non-existent and distorted sources. Robert was still decades away from being wealthy. But he was quite comfortable in 1875 at the age of 32.

I ran into this lovely lecture right after hearing another one, wherein Robert Lincoln was portrayed as an absolute greedy blackguard. This lecture sounds more rational and believable. Thanks for it, 12 years after!

11 years later I will raise my hand as the person who taped this vid. There were all the big name channels set up next to me. However, in the mad rush to make the constantly moving news cycle everyone threw up sound bites. It took me a couple days to render this entire event video before I posted to KZbin. I don't know how we all missed that Freudian slip. I guess nobody actually listens to what politicians say.
