1. # 35 -- Re “and”…..so the question is still open, i.e., ‘where do Christians become informed on political items that impact our lives, our culture, and our families. ‘Where’ /’How’ do Christians discuss/learn the appropriate Biblical-based responses? Is failure to address/discuss cultural/political issues from a Biblical perspective a failure of Christian stewardship? Clearly be passive yield no impact for Christ. 2. #36 a. Is meekness/humility incompatible with assertiveness? No one gave away more than Jesus nor was more lowly/humble. Yet he was an indisputable leader and teacher of 12 unlikely/differing persons. b. Much of the cooperate world, based on my 50+yr of global Corporate and Academic experience is as you say, but not all. It is a false narrative to state a humble person cannot be a powerful leader/influencer in today's world. Later in the video there seems to be agreement to this premise. c. ‘Dying out to self’ …..where are those Christians that exemplify this quality? I surely did not exemplify this in most of my life and now, I keep looking back and am seeking the ‘why’. ? d. Tony Campolo is a good reference. I had the privilege of hosting him in 3-4 sessions with my organization and spent a few hours with him. He practiced what he preached. e. One of my devotionals this week - ”How easy it is for me to go through life forgetting that I am but a tenant, a temporary user of all God has entrusted to me. Even what I deem to be mine by the sweat of my labor is in my hands only temporarily, as each breath I draw is by His pleasure. It will end in a heartbeat. In an eye’s quick twinkling I will find myself standing before the Creator and owner of all I once treated as my own as He asks for an accounting. Every decision, every act or omission, every thought, will be reviewed before the One who gave life and all that I enjoy.” This clear reminder that my every thought, every deed , needs to reflect on God’s ownership of my life. Agreed this is where one lives abundantly!!! f. Your last 5 minutes of #36 was the ‘meat’ for our Christ-like life objective…….but I keep asking; i. Where are the examples of dying to self today and around me? ii. How are the hearts of people reached to make this as priority …starting with me looking in a mirror PLEASE, respect my privacy and do not state my name on the air. I am not ashamed of the comments and am happy to debate them with you but many times interpretation without context by others is not as it was intended. Therefore, I prefer ‘anonymous commentator’.

95% of podcast 34 messages/comments are non-debatable. However, special issue polices do impact our lives, energy, and the hoax of global warming issue polices do affect our cost of living and other polices on Healthcare, immigration, economic drivers....these are and should be important enough to earn a vote. A big issue of course is that people are not armed with facts and accurate data to make informed choices and/or discussions. 2. What is the role of the church to educate/espouse the Biblical position on political issues and policies? Taking a passive political approach and not engaging makes it easier for wrong choices due to misinformation/lies being propagated in Christains and, hence, wrong vote choices. 3. You seemed to convey that the choice is 'or', i.e. "Christians should only focus on the spiritual needs of those around us and not engage politics or be a positive influence for right". Why the view that it cannot be, 'and'? 4. Should not the church of all organizations be promoting voting? Much less than 50% of evangels voted....WHY? Voting should be an imperative, especially by ones that what Christain and better morale ideals. But instead the church runs away from eve supporting/promoting the importance of voting or conveying enlightenment on issues the impact us. 5. And while individual candidates may not be liked or acceptable, the focus must be on the party platforms and polices represented, and that best aligns with Biblical principles/morals/absolutes. 6. What we see in the world today, in the media and all around us is all the result of an unrepentant world with their backs turned against God and his righteousness, turned against accountability, and rather focused on self-gratification, selfishness, gaining power, i.e., the full sinful nature of man on display. Thoughts to ponder.... Thanks for taking on the 'hot' topic.

Trying to find identity versus a focus on the 'how to' die out to Christ. Talking about another's witness/impact for Christ certainly has value but how did they get there, what must a person really do to 'personally experience' Christ in their hearts and lives? Perhaps an added emphasis on the process versus talking about outcomes....just some thoughts....

I appreciate that both of you are willing to wrestle with this issue and not water down the message of loving our neighbor by landing on a political answer. I personally instinctively dislike the idea of asking the government to remove itself from aid so that the church can fill in. But I have heard this argument before from compassionate people. And I can live at peace in that tension when I have enough influences like this podcast.

I appreciate your reasoning and insights, but especially that you both spoke out of compassion. So many times I hear Christians only speak out of fear when talking about anything political. It's so difficult not to get sucked into that fear. I don't even have to agree with everything you said to find this encouraging!

you might want to vary your intro, it's boring on the first listen, it's plain tedious after six videos. i think you are the reason the churches are empty, you have a really crummy delivery considering the creator of the universe is your "inspiration" - you're a joke.

if you're christian can you remind god he can't just go around killing people and burning them alive for eternity just because they disagree with him, we have rights. and while you're at it, cold fusion, if god isn't going to do anything about putin (heart attack or something that looks natural), if he's not going to stop the war, (when did he ever stop a war) then the least he can do is hint as to how to get cold fusion working - has he seen my electricity bills since the ukraine debacle started, there's a love eh. don't be pushy though, god has a short fuse.

what are you hoping to acieve with this 70 views and 3 likes channel? "if you save just one person from the fires of hell" is that it? just a quick reminder that the first amendment conflicts with the first commandment "thou shalt worship whoever you want" and that the declaration of human rights gives ME more rights than god. and a history lesson cos the USA is a secular nation, not many people seem to know that, and the founding fathers were at best deists and certainly not christian. hitchens became a naturalised american purely because of the constitution. the UK is officially christian, the US is officially secular. is it annoying that the satanic temple has the SAME RIGHTS as the church ?

don't blame me, i keep getting these crappy backwater religious channels popping up in my feed. you have a dislikes to likes ratio of of 1-0 so that's a joke in itself. let me share my theory - my theory is crummy channels like this are what's driving people away from church, it's pretty clear no one is interested and anyone who "comes to visit" your empty channel is going to walk straight back out the door. so keep it up, you already offend so many people, either by being "too liberal" or by being "too fire and brimstone" and pew polls and gallup indicate that the "nones" are second generation - they don't even know they are atheist, god is that meaningless.

lots of people die for lies, wouldn't you say muslims died for a lie, and it's surprising (not really) how ignorant christians are of the bible, cos even your own people, like sean mcdowell, say that you can only attribute martyrdom to two of the disciples (one death was cos the guy was sleeping with the mayors wife ffs), and there is NO evidence that they didn't repent and deny jesus and still got killed - romans did that for fun

Like in the simple definition of “a statement that is true at all times and in all places” ? Or is there another definition that is being referred to in the video? Because an example of absolute truth can be “there are no round squares” I feel like most people would believe In absolute truth if it was defined like this.
@TheBeLifePodcast9 ай бұрын
Thanks for commenting! I would disagree with you on one point, and it has to do with your statement, “most people would believe in absolute truth if…”. In order for “most people” to believe in absolute truth, they would have to also believe in a true God and remove themselves from the center of the universe. How can there be absolute truth if truth originates in us, who can only experience truth through our individual experience. But how do we answer how we got here on this planet, and why? What is the purpose of life, and what happens when we die? Those are truths that we cannot experience the answers to, but God has given us the answers in His Word, the Bible. It is all there and we can accept it or reject it and wander through life like a leaf in a hurricane. But most people’s ego won’t allow them to give up their sovereignty to God, and thus the rub. Thank you again for responding and I hope you keep watching or listening.
