just tune? or actually bolt ons? i’m assuming plentum spacer, z tube, lighter pulley, and a good exhaust maybe headers. feel like that’s everything for full bolt ons if that can’t make 270 wheel almost 300 to crank… i most be in fairyland.

@@Aye_J well yeah i have headers ,y pipe, test pipes non resonated, plenum spacer, intake , ported manifolds , throttle body, pulley kit and what not , the dynos read low in this shop and my transmission just blew so safe to say, other vqs with the same mods could do better with different dyno and good transmission

I had an idea that I'd like to run by. What if I used a firewall-mount remote oil filter as my catch can? Every time I change the engine oil, just change out the cheap oil filter on the remote oil filter mount?

Depends on how loud that sound is. Headers “sing” you hear the individual explosions more than thick heavy cast manifolds. But if it’s loud it’s probably lifter tick or an exhaust leak. I’d check the manifold bolts first. Maybe put a new gasket on to be sure

Also, looks like headers and exhaust is custom/lower quality so double check that no parts are rubbing on the engine when on, or on the frame of the vehicle ether creating the ticking noise

Smoke is normal, tick is ether an exhaust leak or some sorta internal engine fault that couldn’t be heard thru the exhaust before because of how quite the previous one was. Best idea is to scan car for and diagnostic trouble codes. If non are present then do a health check. Pull your spark plugs run a compression and leak down test to make sure nothing is hurt internally and move on from there. If motor comes back healthy after wards then find your exhaust leak which most of the time when it’s a tick like that it’s from the manifold not sealing and or bolts being loose and fix the issue.

New headers and exhaust peices always have an oil coating that will take a while to burn off

Headers are leaking more than likely. If u used a stock style gasket that may be the issue. Headers usually require a different gasket. The smoking is just the oils burning off from packing and manufacturing. I wouldnt worry too much if it ran perfect before hand

Could be the sound of an exhaust leak but the smoke isnt related to the sound. The smoke will probably just go away after it burns off

Well it sounds like it's low on oil also sounds like there is a loose collar or a nut or a bolt in the exhaust😮new metal is oiled to prevent rust some smoke is normal at 1st start up/heat up

the ticking noise depends on the engine, some do it normally some dont, but i guess yours didnt since you asked about it, can be the valves or the injectors if its direct injection

If it’s under the car it’s an exhaust leak. Look for soot at the joints.

@@nevatrustasoul depending the year 03-06 you can do a plenum spacer and intake 07-10 i recommend test pipes and ported manifolds

Yes 100 percent, i didn’t expect to feel it as much as I did, throttle response is more instant, and from a roll it has almost to no lag while going full throttle butt dyno says more torque forsure and from what I see seems to rev faster

Yeah that pulley isn’t changing the motor reveal less you had bad bearings in every pulley then still wouldn’t do much but break belts and make lot of noise

Wrong it’s more than a pulley it’s a lightweight crank pulley and a idler pulley delete kit from z1 Motorsport your removing a whole pulley that isn’t needed in my engine essentially and lightening the main crank pulley wich is the main pulley that is connected to the crank shaft ,if you have any mechanical experience and any knowledge about vqs then you would understand

Idler pulley delete and light weight. Crank pulley 10hp 10tq gains it’s a debated part that people argue about. the point wasn’t to show that it has a lot of gains, it’s the point that it actually is a noticeable difference… and you mean smaller pulley

Yes i noticed a significant amount of power increas on the higher end of my car, definitely when your on the freeway helps you get to higher speeds , and currently i have added a 75mm throttle body and break set and i need to do a video on those updates 😄
