There are levels, this guy is probably low level narcissist, because the ones I know would NEVER admit to fault to be diagnosed. Even if you tell them about their flaws it's interpreted it differently. Intelligent narcissist will turn any slight or insult back on anyone who's available to take it. It will not go onto them.

Narcissists hurt people by defending and justifying their own problems from people who genuinely care. You can't hurt anyone who doesn't care.

Also, something particularly pointed about a narcissist is their intention is to be happy at your expense and no indirect way. So if you want to make yourself happy, but that impact is hurting someone else, it could just be misalignment self accountability rather than narcissism

I think people have the wrong concept of empathy. Empathy is not connecting with somebody on the level to be able to sit with and connect to the level of coming to tears with them. Empathy is imagining yourself in their shoes. Sympathy gives you the ability to sit and cry with someone narcs lack sympathy mercy and compassion for others they really don’t understand that, I don’t need you to put yourself in my shoes because putting yourself in someone’s shoes doesn’t always means a person understand how someone else feel or that you feel bad for what they’re going through that’s called sympathy that’s compassion that’s mercy. Hell there’s many people who I can put myself in their shoes and still be like shit. You deserve it or you shouldn’t have done that or this is the repercussion behind what you done I know people who lost a child and I said I couldn’t imagine because I couldn’t, but it doesn’t mean I couldn’t sympathize with them and emotionally hurt for them, so it’s not lack of empathy. A lot of people lack empathy. it’s amazing that narcissist can have the emotions that they cannot or do not care to see someone else go through or feel or having emotions about sending someone else through those emotions because he said constructive criticism is just flat out criticism hurts a narcissist, It makes him feel devalued and all these things again that’s not lacking empathy because you are not putting yourself in shoes when you say to me everything you say to me is straight out criticism and it affects my emotions that’s called sympathizing with yourself so don’t tell me that you don’t understand. At this point I’m getting triggered frustrated and don’t even know what I’m saying. F all of this and f the bastard who me drew me into his craziness!

I appreciate this. My ex told me he was diagnosed with BPD but I saw a lot of NPD in him. Turns out the two are same same but different. My question is: if he lies to the authorities and has no guilt about it, what type of personality disorder is that? What does delusional get classified as? As Maxim Bady would say, (my ex is) "delulu"

When I saw the original time machine movie on TV as a kid, it inspired me so much that i wanted to become a scientist and eventually create a real time machine as well, but unfortunately I grew up with a father who acted like he was my worst enemy and prevented me from doing a lot of things that i wanted to do since I was a 7 years old kid.

"I intend to make myself happy by making you unhappy" was him answering the question of do all narcissists intent to hurt people while surrounding a bunch of exaggerated facial and body movements and throwing a ton of words around it to avoid honestly answering. So basically, yes. Whether you get hurt or not by the narc means nothing to them because the empathy was never there.

Thank you for sharing this. Have you ever considered christian therapy? Romans 12:2 tells us we can be transformed by the renewing of our mind. I had bi-polar disorder. I was able to come off all medication by surrendering my life to Jesus and after a period of a few years of my whole mind/brain was changed.

My husband's mom is a narcissist, my husband of 40 years of marriage together, is a narcissist. The older I get, the more I believe that it's a "genetic" personality disorder. Because each narc is the same. It would be impossible for each person who is a narcissist to have learned the same identical things. So it just seems like it's something that some are born with, and those who are born with it have the exact identical issues, behaviors, sins.. etc. As children and all their life. They are different even as kids. I'm glad for all of the awareness on KZbin. I wish I had known about it 60 years ago. Thank you for this video.

Empathy is a big one I do not see in my husband. He also called me narcissist. But I feel like my life circumstances made me strong. But I’m very self-aware. I had really bad childhood trauma, the as an adult. I dated another guy before my husband who had similarities the ghosting pattern the lack you empathy and just mean. Emotionally and physical abuse. I wish my husband was more self-aware. And that he would seek help. He can turn on me so quickly love me then hate me and block me and cut me off. I don’t understand this. I’m a fixer so I want to communicate and move on. He shuts down or leaves. And now wants a divorce. He is unable to be accountable for the things he does to me. He thinks woman in general find ways to be a victim. I was like what? Smh

if someone is not meeting your needs then it's symptom that something is really wrong, and it takes the both of you to fix it or accept that it won't be fixed and move on to other people. if one person is refusing to work on themselves and make the relationship work, then you're the only one putting in effort and building the bridge, which is impossible to do alone and achieve a happy equal partnership. that goes for any relationship including friendship. it takes two to tango. I'm sorry for your situation and that hes hurt you so much, but one of you is going to have to put your foot down if its not serving you

Very insightful video and the fact that he was arguing with his six month old child is so deeply telling and tragic, it just shows you how messed up of a disease it is… very, very sad 😔.. I have two NPD exes and it hurts my soul to know they will never be healed and that they are unaware of how much they hurt me.. I pray for them anyway, we are all a work in progress and I forgave so I could moved on and be at peace.. 🙏

It's a very strange subject to dissect. I think the guy in this video has a hidden motive other than ' exposing Derek Acorah as a fake' , he talks about " blanket acceptance " of the spiritual phenomenon, but why do it on the very show ( that no doubt paid him well), why not try to persuade Christians in a church that they might be being hoodwinked? i think what he did with Derek was extremely cheap, surely, if Derek was fake then the whole show was, why didn't he voice his opinion on that and not just use one man as a scapegoat. It was always obvious that when youre paid to perform in front of a camera for big money, you'll dance like fred astaire. i had a reading from Derek, many years ago and found him to be a wonderful person and very genuine, i think sometimes the big limelight spoiled that. And as for a man no longer with us, unable to speak up for himself, i think its disgusting and should be laid to rest.

A lot of successful ppl are not diagnosed, but are full, sociopaths and some even psychopaths. I’m retired military and wound up dating and eventually marrying a psychologist. During our dating process, she recognized several distinct, but kept in place “red flags”, of my personality. And one day had a frank discussion about my upbringing, psychological profile and I decided to take some tests. I am a diagnosed sociopath, with not all markers of, but they move from place to place, but my personality has psychopathic tendencies. For instance the joker of Batman, is a psychopath, but he’s a chaotic psychopath. His intentions are to destroy, and cause chaos. I’m the type I use it to my advantage and I’m extremely likable. You immediately want to be my friend, and I’ll get you to drop your guard, so tell me about yourself. But be careful what you tell me, if you become my enemy, I will use it against you. But if you’re my friend, a friend will help you move, I’ll help you move a body.

I don’t understand the trauma bit, my middle son seems to be somewhat narcissistic my other two are not, they were all raised the same way, same style of discipline they all got into Marijuana in their teens, which is when we noticed he changed the others didn’t, then he met a partner who,is very definitely narcissistic and this has made him worse, they have currently cut us out of their life and our grandsons, for about the 4th time, we just can’t do it anymore and have allowed it to continue, I love my son but can’t deal with him anymore. I thought it might be hereditary as I’ve realised my mother had some kind of major mental health problems she self medicated with alcohol. She cut herself of from me for 20 years until she needed my help in old age. And yes I forgave her although never forgot about what she had done to me. If the trauma was correct I should be a narcissist myself 😢

no one reacts to trauma the same. depending on the person, in the same environment, they could end up with depression, or anxiety, or NPD, or PTSD, or OCD...you get what I'm saying. some people grow up with trauma learn control through hurting and manipulating others. some learn control through internally (or physically) hurting themselves - more of the victim mindset. all depends on the kind of person you are, your sensitivity and how you react to things at a base level

Is there someone who could put french subtitles on this video please ? It could help me and my husband, he doesn't speak english. I left and he realised something was wrong and is willing to start therapy, so i could come back and 'we could be happy together'. But he has to be honest with his therapist, at this point I think he is capable to manipulate him, have me come back thinking he is on his way to recovery, only to face more abuse from him..
