I thought when I first heard this that it was a Suede song, so I told my mum to listen to it. She did but then she came back to me with the original so I listened to it, and had to concede the original was better despite being a Suede fan. That's how thing were back then conceding points when you were in the wrong now not so much. Covers back then tended to add their own spin to the song,so could on some occasions sound better than the originals. In this case the original was darker in it's simplicity. Though both are bloody good dark in their sound.

That song belongs to my friend Elvis and his friend Chet. But that version is good. An anthem anti Maggie. Elvis Costello is the most talented artist since 1978, in all kind of muwic. The world will remember him, centuries ago...❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤

Great version , great band . But the Elvis version has the Chet Baker trumpet - maybe my fav trumpet part ever , apart from Penny Lane .
