Most of the negatives she points out about New Haven: high taxes, high crime, expensive real estate, homelessness, are unfortunately true of the majority of American cities, so singling out New Haven for these problems is a bit unfair. The problems she described are national, not exclusive to the Elm City. New Haven is my home town (North Haven, actually) and I'm looking forward be visiting it in early October. I guess I'll find out if it's gotten worse or better. Better, I suspect.
