Of course the Meshuggah version is superior, but I wish they did it on the album like 1:36

This production sounds like an insult to metal itself. It is devoid of any agression, completely sanitized. How can anyone say this does the original any justice?

I wouldn't really call this rare. You can find his demos fairly readily on Bulb's soundclick, and there are torrents out there. Great song though

To me, it sounds like this demo basically split into ideas for the Periphery II album.

Guys of course that the quality is better, guess why? Meshuggah released Chaosphere in 1998... PunKarmus In Chaosphere the bass guitar is very clear and audible because it was tuned down to Bb Octave lower (you can hear this nuddle :P) On their newer stuff it's tuned up to F which creates unison, together with electric guitars. Without bass you won't be able to hear this deepness. Anyway Misha we love you and this cover is just great! Really like the way you rearranged the ending riff :)
@OHBJJ96343 жыл бұрын
You know F is lower than Bb. Because theyre now on 8 strings since album 4. Albums 2 and 3 were and 7 strings. Album 1 was 6 strings.
@Toxicity19873 жыл бұрын
@@OHBJJ9634 Yup, he tuned the E String up to F So, Bb F, Bb, Eb, Ab. Probably switches Basses for the Older 7 String Songs.

its bulb, you can hear it. The mix, the layers,textures the sound itself is bulb. thats what hes like. If your familiar with him youll notice it. Its amazing quality the upload I mean, but the song... its like he took it and made it completely perfect for what mesh have been aiming for imho. luv bulb

if you know rhythm then this should help: the beginning starts with 2 eighth notes, then a dotted sixteenth rest (i think lol, its been a while), 3 eighth notes, another dotted 16th rest, etc.......until it reaches 7 eighth notes, then it does that weird sporadic guitar lick and loops back to the 2 eighth notes...so 2 to 7
