Hey the thing is you know where you ended the canoe session I have been there before but when the Dee is lower there’s a little sand area there and I’ve also gone over the Banchory bridge over the dee but I haven’t seen it high as deside road has flooded recently I never saw that flood though I just heard about it online it was during storm babet but I never seen it that high before

Ran it this easter for the first time. It really doesn't come across just how deep that gorge is in the video. We looked at teacups from the bank and it felt like a long way down. Ps its tick central around there never seen so many before!

Absolutely! Some of the drops are quite intimidating and you need a bit of skill in rock climbing/clambering too!

Thanks for sharing your pain and discomfort with us. Looked like a decent paddle up until that point.

Hi mate, crazy water levels. Considering doing the Dee solo from Braemar to Aberdeen in the next 10 days or so in an open canoe... Any experience doing this around 1m water level / or doing it at this time of the year? Thanks for the video and take care! Eze.

Sorry mate, only just seen your comment - did you do the Braemar to Aberdeen trip? Should all be good if you haven't. Levels need to be relatively high for the upper part of the Dee to cover the rocks, but all is good. If you need cmpany when doing the trip, drop me a message - there's plenty of local canoeists and kayakers that could chum you down sections ;)

Hi Graham...not sure as the SEPA gauge was offline at the time, but I estimate it was around 2.5 to 3m on the Woodend gauge.
