Twenty years of Pall Mall cigarettes killed my mother. Over two years of complete terror, my Dad had to witness 24 hours a day, without the ability to stop the cancer, or help her. She lost one lung first. Then she had to have 1980's radiation to her brain to stop a brain tumor. Then, an infection in her lung cavity exploded one Saturday morning, through a boil on side of the chest incision, and a quart of infection spilled out on the bed and onto the floor. My mom moaned, "thank God, I can breath again." My dad completely freaked out and called my moms nurse friend down the street. At the end, my mom was so high on morphine for the pain, she only recognized our faces but couldn't say our names. I was glad when God came to end my mom's suffering. She had the very best care people of our lower middle class living could get. And she had been a head nurse at a hospital for about ten years and had numerous fine doctor and nurse friends. They worked so hard to fight the cancer and to keep her body and her spirit alive. But what that did, was prolong her pain until it was unreal. At the end, her skin was like tissue paper. She will always be our mom, my Dad's breath of life and our family warrior. Cigarettes took her away from us but her spirit lives on, inside of me and my brothers, every day. Thank you , Mom. And Dad. Rest with God.

And still, the tobacco giants are allowed to sell a product, without any list of ingredients, that is clearly a killer.

At the end nothing will change. I'm sorry for those people. But I see it in my family. The peole have to change themselves. But lot of people dont want to change their behavior. Thats how we are as humans. Most of us want to change something when its to late. Its the same with war or climate change (i know very extreme examples).

Recently quit about a month ago. I was vaping, but still it’s not very good. It is possible, and I’m glad I’ve kicked it. Saving money and my health. Just get through those first 5 days, then nothing can stop you. You might get a bit angry at people, but they’ll understand. Don’t give up!

Only 53? That's no age to die like that. I know someone who probably still smokes and their voice is on the way out.

So… when she uses that sort of throat-touch-sensitive voice changer or whatever it’s called, the voice becomes robotic… I think. People like us who don’t smoke have clear voices and KZbin’s captions or subtitles become correct, according to what they said, but for smokers or former smokers, well… KZbin’s captions or subtitles become incorrect… I think.
