My father, Vic Turner designed the building on our kitchen table. He got all permits, hired the contractors. Designed the layout, bought the equipment, made it happen. I helped build the transmitter . It was the first UHF channel in that area. The guys who built the tower were killed in texas just a few months later. The station took off and changed hands a couple of times while I was there. When it sold ,my dad got 1.1 million bucks. I didnt see a penny.

I lived in the Bessemer suburb of Birmingham, and remember WTTO from it's sign on from April 21,1982 to when I moved in 1987.Somewhere in my VHS collection, I have a tape from December 1985 with channel 21 shows and IDs on it.
