This is probably because your furby is older than 10 years. For multiple days I kept triggering every trigger for example the eye, mouth, etc. And one day he starting to make a buzzing sound. What means he was kinda awake. Id recommend you try that

Pretty graphic animation of a 8 yr old behandling. Stupid move form the Teiko's son, he should have been smarter and waited until Ieyasu would die of old age, and then make his move.

Nice video, but can I add a couple of notes. 1. Hideyoshi intended target was Ming China all along. After China, he planned to invade India. 2. Hideyoshi asked for safe passage to China with Korean King a couple of times. 3. Joseon Korea was a loyal vassal state of Ming China, declined the request. 4. Hideyoshi invaded Joseon Korea as a stepping stone for his China invasion. 5. Joseon Korea, who had lived in peace for 200 years, was unprepared. Their army was routed. Only their Navy, with years of experience fighting Japanese pirates, was ready. 6. Korean King asked for Ming China help. Wanli Emperor decided to aid Korea. 7. With China's help, the war tide begins to turn. The Japanese retreated to the coastal city of Busan in Southern Korea. 8. The long peace negotiations were held between China and Japan, but no deal was made. 9. Hideyoshi launched his second invasion in 1597. But the Allied Korean - Chinese army was ready. It ends in a stalemate. 10. Hideyoshi passed away, and his successor ordered the remaining Japanese army in Korea to return to Japan, thus ending the Imjin war.

The chronology of Hinotori is necessary to understanding Japanese History and Himiko herself. Hinotori appeared in the world 7 times between 721 bc and 246 ad. This is confirmed with sources external of Japanese histories. No need to take my word for it. Search for sun darkening events in 721 bc and 583 bc. Those aren’t the moon blotting out the sun. It’s Hinotori/Phoenix. 721 bc / 583 bc / 445 bc / 307 bc / 169 bc / -31 bc / 108 ad / 246 ad, etc. The two appearances of Hinotori relevant to Himiko are 108 ad and 246 ad. In 108 ad, Hinotori appeared and caused a period of 72 years of conflict and confusion. Then in 180 ad she assumed the throne. She would rule 66 years until 246 ad when Hinotori appeared again and blotted out the Sun. The people then revolted against her. She called for help from China, but it was too late, and she died a year later in 247 ad. I do believe this is the origin of the Legend of Amaterasu. With the story of Jimmu coming after Himiko. Some Japanese historians note that there must of been a particularly significant Sun darkening event that left an impression on the people just before these Narratives were being written down in Kojiki and Nihon Shoki, and even try to connect a sun darkening event to “around her death.” But they mistake that only the moon can darken the sun and thus fail to pinpoint any particular date. The compilers creating a fictitious narrative based on 60 year periods spanning all the way back to 721 bc. Obviously fake, but based on events that had just occurred a couple centuries before. It was the appearance of Hinotori in 246 ad that left a such an unforgettable memory.

I like your channel and don't want to come across as ungrateful for your content, but it is highly unlikely that the reason the Imagawa attacked the Oda was because Yoshimoto was "essentially bored". Nobunaga's father had engaged in a number of skirmishes with Imagawa vassal clans like the Matsudaira prior to Yoshimoto's attack. When Yoshimoto invaded the Oda clan was considered an easy target due in part to its relatively small size and its recent internal conflicts that had occurred as Nobunaga faced a series of succession disputes with his relatives. While it is largely presumed that Yoshimoto planned to continue on to Kyoto due to the recent tripartite alliance he had formed with the Hojo and the Takeda, removing the previously troublesome Oda clan while extending Imagawa lands could also be a reason for his attack. While we will probably never know the exact reasons, using boredom as a narrative device to push forward to the focus of the content is still misleading.

I’m on team Nara Basin. If you’re an ancient navigator, you know what you don’t mess up? Time and distance. You would know how long you’ve been traveling, and also roughly how fast you were going based on travel times in similar ships between known locations and sailing experience. It’s pretty easy to determine how fast a ship is going: just count how long it takes for your ship to pass some seaweed. Then there’s the archeological evidence. Exaggerating the size of a tomb by a factor of say 5 is a lot more plausible than 50. The mirrors also fit. Directions are often off what it literally says - considering that even today we say north when we really mean a heading of 352° or 11°. Compasses were still relatively new - and might not always be easy to use or reliable on a rocking boat. This also makes linguistic sense - would you name your kingdom something similar to its own predecessor or a completely different place to the west?

I assume you read Japanese language and ancient Japanese language fluently? As a philosopher I expect that from you. I say (as a philosopher) each country on the whole world should have a king and a queen. While the kings duty is to impose law and rightfulness with all the power. (Not like todays so called democracy where every perversion is tolerated) And the queen who is in fact a spiritual leader. Teaches art, philosophy, music, mystics, magic and more. I like the Idea of Himiko and even you can't prove her historically, we should remember her as a great potential, a great opportunity for humanity. We shouldn't forget, or neglect the potential of being human, we don't need necessarily be the misleaded crook humans like today.

We are English learners in Japan studying Japanese dog breeds. Thank you for sharing some of this information. (It is interesting, but the background showing your bedroom seems inappropriate to the material and distracting.) Also, you start out talking about your roommates' new dog, and lead into Japanese dogs, but then you tell us the dog is a Corgi! This is confusing. We like your accent, but you speak very quickly. A question from a Hokkaido native: you talk about the Hokkaido dog living with the Ainu. Hokkaido wasn't originally Japan. How did Hokkaido dogs become popular as "Japanese dogs"? Thank you for giving us some things to talk about. 😄

Ironically the merchants also played a major, perhaps THE major, role in the collapse of the kamukara shogunate. Samurai became indebted to them. The weakness of the ashikaga shogunate and the sengoku era prolonged their dominance

Very informative video! I think a bit of a combination of scenario 2 and 3 is the one I agree with the most as well. Himiko/Pimiko's name implies some kind of connection to the Sun, mirror imagery, and if one really squints at it, some of the stories of Amaterasu could be very mythologized events such as being locked away in a cave possibly referencing shamanic rituals of isolation or even the tomb. Regardless of if the Yamato were actually the descendants of the Yamatai or if they were claiming some kind of connection to them (i.e. Holy Roman Empire effect), it is possible they were claiming descent from a prior popular ruler as a means of legitimacy. And making her a kami both has a precedent in Shintoism sometimes doing such for deceased persons, and my double as a way of justifying rule under Justin emperor. Nobody asks questions if women can rule if you recontextualization the prior queen as a goddess.

And now it's time for who's gonna be the next shogun? Ususlly it's the shogun's kid, but the shogun doesn't have a kid, so he tries to get his brother to quit being a monk and become the next shogun. He says ok, but then the shogun has a kid. So now who's it gonna be? *Vote now on your phones!* And everyone voted so hard the palace caught on fire and burned down. But the shogun didn't care, he was off somewhere doing poetry. And the whole country broke into pieces. Everyone was fighting each other for local power, and it's anybody's game.

I've been researching a lot of the Sengoku period and it's shocking how many different accounts exist as to why these historical figures did what they did. It's really interesting seeing how different Japanese videogames depict key events like the battle of Okehazama, yamazaki, and the honnouuji incident. It's really cool.

Few misinformation in the video 1) Hideyoshi easily earn support of Nobunaga allies is not true. He had to do all the scheming (by taking custody on Oda's grandson Sanboshi-maru) and also had to defeat Shibata Katsuie, one of Nobunaga's senior retainer, before he could take control. Hideyoshi also had trouble to make Tokugawa his vassal that he had to marry his sister and send his mother as hostage to Tokugawa. 2) The land of Hojo was given to Tokugawa, but he was not allowed to reside in Odawara. Instead Hideyoshi instructed him to develop an "empty land" that later will become the old days Edo. In other words, Odawara isn't Edo. 3) Hideyoshi unable to become Shogun has nothing to do with him being a peasant. He took the title Kanpaku Denka which is SECOND in command after Emperor. For your info this title is way higher than Shogun, and usually be appointed to Court Nobel. Therefore before he could receive the rank, he bought the SURNAME Toyotomi which is one of the Noble family at the same social status as Minamoto, Taira, and Fujiwara.

If continuity of bloodline is of prime concern, then inheritance through the matrilineal makes more sense, as maternity is harder to fake (I've read the 😅tale of Genji😉). But, given the high risks of childbirth in ancient times, perhaps they thought it safer for stability of the government to have a male emperor with several wives. With all that said, the current Emperor's daughter should be allowed to be Empress, if she is willing..

It's been theorized that since Hideyoshi could neither become Shogun nor Emperor of Japan, then China would be the only viable option to achieve Emperor status. If he could defeat the Ming Dynasty, then he could potentially claim the Mandate of Heaven and be declared a Chinese Emperor. In the Chinese system, there was no requirement to be of noble status or even to be an ethnic Han Chinese, you just have to convince the population that you've inherited the Mandate of Heaven by crushing all of your enemies.
