1999..moved back to Birmingham, AL from Atlamta GA to start college. I was 21 years old and my mother got me the special edition, gold edition of this game for Christmas. Lived with my grandmother when I moved back here for a few years when I started college and played this game all the time. When I see this opening and hear this theme, I go back to that time, my grandmother's warm house, her playing the piano as she loved to do or the smell of dinner cooking throughout the house and her coming to my room, looking at the TV and saying "Doesn't that little feller ever get tired?"(because I was playing this game all day).. I turn 47 in two days. My grandmother passed almost 20 years ago and her house is no longer there. I'm in corporate management in my field now, make great money but would give anything to relive the setting I stated earlier. My niece played this game years ago on GameCube and I just watched her play it and helped her along a few times but just let her experience it for the most part. All of this comes rushing through my mind when I see and hear this.

My grandfather died in 2013 I remember the countless hours he would spend fishing in zoras lake mini game. We use to have to rent the game from the local shop and you’d get it for 2 days. Someone would always overwrite the save file when we got it back. How many times did pop ask me to beat the deku tree and goros lair for him so he could fish for hours. Once I got older and was better at the game I made it to bigger link he was mind blown with the bigger fish you could catch. Basically this game will forever hold mine and my grandfathers memories. It’s almost as hyrule field and zoras lake is the only place I can always find pop. 2013 June 24th rest easy pop brain tumour may have won but you won all of us.

Ill never forget having to beat the second to last boss before turn three or it literally crashes your game lmao. (The explanation i read was that its scrupted to use a move on that turn that was removed at some point, and your console would just freeze.) Using replakia and having two almost perfect two turns was the only way to get past it on the ps2 version.

We should count ourselves lucky to have been able to experience this masterpiece of entertainment while growing up. When im on my death bed i imagine my biggest regret would be not being able to make own kids give this "old game" a chance. They dont know what they are missing.

It's not the best game of all time to me but it definitely has the best opening, oh my gaawd. I don't even have nostalgia for it yet it brings tears to my eyes. THAT is a masterpiece

I’ve been coming to this for years it takes me back to being 5 years old… playing this and just adventuring for hours on hours loving the music the sounds life was so easy and simple asking my big brother to pass levels for me and now I’m 23 and I’m sitting here tearing up to this song reminiscing on those times I pray after this life I relive and childhood like mine over again and I can see it for what it is and enjoy every second of it I can’t believe we don’t see or realize how special that time is till it’s too late
