Im slowly getting back in the swing of things after getting into a horseback riding accident in November. My back was broken in two places and I was in a brace for almost three months. Two days after getting back on her I was thrown again and yet, didn’t give up on her. I did away with her old saddle and bought her a new Australian Outback saddle and a set of new nylon endurance reins. After Phoenix started to shed her winter coat, I began to see scars that were there from her previous life . She hates split rein’s which were probably used to beat and slap her around. 😢😿 I noticed a scar above her right eye. 😿I see a lot of me and Phoenix in your videos.❤️🐴 Onyx turned into a beautiful horse.

For me it’s not to just not quit on one horse, this horse I just bought won’t work for me, even though he is my dream horse he turned psycho. He is a dream to ride, couldn’t even put a fly mask on the first few weeks I had him, he was a different horse when I bought him. Sent him to training he went lame, got diagnosed with EPM, out of work, treated, started work again but haven’t gotten a vet check. Now he is crazy every time I try to put a saddle on him. No matter how much I don’t want to give up on this horse because every time I see him he is so sweet and has a great personality, but to ride or work with he is crazy. My parents also think I should sell him. There is always a chance his epm could come back, and that would suck. But I love this horse and now I have to get him vet checked and I’m going back and forth on keeping him. I have no idea what to do

I passed much much worse with my little horse aptly named Mischief. He had been literally tortured from when he was taken from his mother through new owner, to trainer to me. he was destined for meat. considered extremely dangerous. He hated people and tried to rid himself of human contact. he had the will to kill. Once in the early days I had a stable door beaten down on top of me with him on top. Yes it hurt but I knew it wan't his fault. We had a beautiful rapport that lasted 20 years. He protected me in numerous occasions and every day that passes I miss him so much. He was a horse that couldn't be fixed. they DO NOT EXIST. only man does not have the patience to communicate. There is no one solution only a line of communication that fluctuates like the waves. Trust me. He was not the first but one in a long line of desperate ponies and horses and I pray in my lifetime he will NOT be the last. Onyx is simply a beautiful example. well done. keep going. He's wonderful. so are you.

I think that it’s important to start from the ground so that you have a horse who really trusts you before you get to riding because it’s more safe for the bottle the rider and the horse but I don’t know I guess it worked out for you anyway. I just don’t agree with all of the methods that you were using

she has a springboard rabbit jump style to start with but towards the end she flattens that out and becomes more fluid and comfortable over the jumps; like she LIKES jumping; i think once horses get used to jumping they like it and look forward to it. apparently once ian millars big ben horse retired the horse would kick up a big fuss when the big horse van pulled up to the barn to take all the competing horses away to the shows and he was left behind!! a true competitor! that horse also was a very difficult obstinant horse to initially ride when Ian first got him but quickly became a serious fluid careful jumper when Ian rode him.

Hannah Marie you have no idea how much your journey with your horse has inspired me with my riding& my boys.!!..i am mostly self taught. But deep down inside I know I can ride WELL! and i mean it. I have gone through a very disheartened journey ...but watching your progression fills my heart ridiculously. I have 4 OTT all extremely talented.. All easily able to go 3 star. I have been so afraid to ride in front of people because of negative ignorant judgement I ride in secret, afraid of criticism. I cant afford tutors or to compete, but the happiness and mental balance of my horses it the most important...However I want a great coach to improve my ability...then I can ride with out fear of judgment...and know that I am 'able' deep inside myself and not hide. All the negative, abusive, hurtful comments are a reflection of the people who make them...You are amazing, your work with horses is life changing and I can tell you this from my experience.. My boys thank you!
