Best biochar kiln : bestbiocharkiln.com we will see how long it lasts. Honestly just a sealed container like a fire pit should work pretty good.

Thank you. What do you think of the size? Is it about right for a backyard grower or would something bigger be preferable?

I was thinking about using pipes to add ventilation to compost. Thanks for proving that it works. How long after pile creation are you able to remove the pipes?
@PlantPropagationUSA16 күн бұрын
I’ve seen people hookup an air pump to push air in a compost pile on a timer :). It seems that we want a fungal dominated pile, keep it damp. I removed the pipes after a few weeks, since it’s built with random stuff, the holes will collapse. I’m using a stick to enlarge the holes now, no big deal.

Hello. Thank you for the video. Do you dampen the coffee grinds before adding the grinds to the bin?
@PlantPropagationUSAАй бұрын
I do not, if the bin seems too dry I will add water to the entire bin. It should be like a damp sponge.

@PlantPropagationUSA3 ай бұрын
Not a problem, best method is to find elderberry and get some cuttings. Local gardening groups, or areas with water tend to have them.

Yeah, some of my latest videos have a system. Get a concrete mixing tray, pond pump, mechanical timer, and a tank. The bed can flood 15 minutes on, 15 off with the timer. Let me know if you have more questions.

I've been having very good luck using clay pellets and perlite in" pots in 5 gallon buckets and the flood drain method with a couple cheap but somewhat effective Amazon no name LEDs but come Monday I'll be alright when my 6 new barrina 24s get delivered. I have 4 gorilla cookies budding now and 3 healthy slurricains that are 4 weeks old . Sorry I'm bragging like a proud daddy 😅

So you're not cleaning the cider with bentonite clay or something? I guess that's pretty much just a preference, probably doesn't change the flavor. I use a bentonite clay 1-day cleaning step after siphoning from the primary fermentation chamber and then another polishing step (which I admit is completely optional and affects nothing but presentation) into a keg where I back fill with any additional flavor and carbonation. I also typically add potassium metabisulfite (edit: I meant potassium sorbate, metabisulfite is what I add a day before I add my yeast to kill off bacteria and wild yeast in the unpasteurized cider I use) to stop any more fermentation so it doesn't complicate the forced carbonation or change the flavor profile I created with back filling. Some people really prefer not adding any chemicals at all, but it makes my life easier because I don't have to worry too much about dialing keg pressure around during aging or exploding containers if I bottle it.

Fit presentation. You do trees, you do slooooow. Started doing fruit trees 5-6 yrs ago. Yesterday. Maples are Great! 12-14 feet now. Couple pears are 8' or so couple years they should fruit. 75, I should be able to see pears. Someday they'll be regulars out there. Someone will think back how these got here. Ahhh old man Soukup must've planted these, hell, 2020 or so...

Whoops 76. Forgot. Like the trees just old now. Change is slow decrepitizing. But they new! Just comin on. Crops to come each year. Fun to have decided to start that process goes on after me. Some free will! Buy 4' seedlings or don't. Put em right... Here! Away from maple tree & shrub line. A pair of pears. And that's where they'll live their life, right where I dug that hole.
