Good Afternoon, First of all Epilepsy is an inherited gene 🧬 that can lie dormant for up to 6-8 generations previously before it comes active again. The genome 🧬 is a haploid set of chromosomes and are the complete set of genetic material for that allele in the long double-stranded chain of DNA that makes up people’s characteristics. EPIGEN21-22-23 are the most common markers that are looked for whenever a full genetic history is taken. If no markers are found then alternative diagnosis must be made for the conditions that present before the clinical teams and Specialist Neurologists too. On Ones medical records there was a false entry made stating that I had epilepsy. We had the entire family screened and there was no evidence of any family history or any genetic markers that showed any evidence to support that diagnosis. Genomics are very clear in the presentation of any disease and SHANK3 and MECP2 are all clinical indications that a patient presented with Autism and Autism and Asperger’s and ADHD are all different strains of a common allele. It is any patient’s right to query a diagnosis and get a second opinion especially when a serious error is made and clinical teams often get confused between an Epileptic Seizure and a Syncope which is entirely different.
