Its so hilarious how all the people who printed all the money are gonna be dead before there's any real consequences. After WW2, America was one of the only major manufacturing power in the western world. It build so much wealth and power that it rose to the top of the food chain. And in one lifetime the boomers pissed all that away along with 35 trillion in debt. And what do we have to show for it? Crumbling infrastructure. A demoralized and overeducated indebted population. A housing shortage. A terrible economy. Do you know the sterotype of how rich people raise spoiled brats who develop drug addictions and squander the family fortune? I present to you the boomer generation

I'm pretty sure the assumption at this point is that we will eventually default on the national debt. So most politicians have been ignoring it intentionally thinking they might as well spend as much "free" money as possible while they still can. And everyone is just hoping that they won't be around anymore when the bottom falls out.

You know what would make the single biggest impact on that $35 trillion dollar debt with almost no pain? If we repealed the 2017 Trump tax cuts. The funny thing is this would also be painless for like 95% of US taxpayers because they ceased gaining any benefit from that tax cut in 2020 but for about 5% those cuts are permanent. Doing this one thing would allow us to repay $3.8 trillion over 10 years.

its not owing other countries money its printing money, using it, and putting it into circulation. also bonds, food stamps, stimulus, and unemployment=less accessible tax money available. the war on terror 3.5x our national debt because military spending and national security skyrocketed. our gvt starting PRINTING money. other countries technically “buy” our nations “debt” in the form of US treasuries (because US treasuries are the absolute MOST secure asset in the world) and they hold them as a safe-haven for their economy and can manipulate the value of their own countries currency

You can't fix 50 years of poor policy, federal debt, compounded inflation, ending the gold backed dollar, businesses leaving the country, poor management of federal finances, doubling the workforce, and government bailouts with changing minimum wage. Only a massive crash and collapse will rest everything. Nearly every data point supports this inevitable outcome.

The cost of labor is always ultimately paid by the consumer, and as prices rise fewer goods and services are sold leading to store closers and/or layoffs. Fewer opportunities for the poor to enter the workforce to learn valuable skills which lead to higher paying jobs. Minimum wage laws harm the poor, they can’t even enter the job market.

Some businesses can’t pay you 70 grand a year for unskilled labor or something that doesn’t require much work sorry to burst your bubble why a lot of these min wage jobs are meant for high schoolers or people just starting out in life to get experience and then move on. It’s idiots that stay at these jobs that’s the issue they aren’t meant to support a family.
