You were misguided, or you didn't want to find the true information. There is no 'GOD'. All the proof is there if you could be bothered to find it. Yours is a BELIEF. A 'god' does not need to exist for you to believe in it. If your belief is making you happy then it doesn't matter that there isn't a 'god'. The main thing is, it keeps people under control (most of the time). Then you have the afterlife to look forward to. Even though it doesn't exist either, you still have that hope that it will be there when you die. Religion gives you a good (although false) feeling.
