overall thoughts about the game ? so far

So far the game is 5/10. The game is touted as "open world" but they really just mean it's a large world. I expect an open world to be something where I can go into every little area and explore, no closed doors, etc. The writing is lazy and pretty predictable. None of the side quests interest me and the main storyline is kind of boring too, but as I play more it is getting a bit better. The main character, Kay, is annoying! She either is overly confident or in a panic about something. There's not a great middle ground for her. I also have it on the hardest difficulty and have barely had any trouble completing anything, so it's not very challenging. That said, it's not a terrible game, it's just not a great game. It's mildly amusing, which you'll see if you watch some more. Right now I would say it's between a "Don't Bother" and a "Get it on Sale" - It's definitely not a "BUY IT NOW!" Well, i must say. This run has been very entertaining. I also dig your willingness to stick to it no matter how grim it may be. You are probably already well past this point, but you might have high enough med now to awaken Rice with glitterworld meds.

Thanks for the compliment! Never give up, never surrender. The attempt to wake Rice up happens in the very next episode... and it really shows what a noob I am. You can turn there beds into medical beds by clicking on them( makes them heal quicker) , also moods don't update when there sleeping, and lastly I lock them in the home zone when a heat wave is going on

They give you a free entity containment in the build menu just go down to the anomaly section

You *desperately* need a dumping stockpile for all those stone chunks - the colonists *won’t* put them in the regular stockpile as they’re considered junk unworthy of storage. Also rip up the stone floors in the lower base too, you’ll get more construction experience and get more blocks for building.

This video got me thinking, life is just like this, a cycle of never ending building and harvesting, doing it all over again for just sustaining ourselves and it can drive some to madness or depression. So it’s important to try to find times in that cycle to appreciate life for what it is, and find happiness in the little things. That’s why we love video games. Keep it up.

This game reminds me of prison architect and it seems just as multi layered.

The developer of RimWorld admitted that he took some inspiration from Prison Architect when he said, "But they do look somewhat similar; that's my fault. I'm not a good enough artist to come up with a really good original look. There are only so many ways to render characters on a tiny grid without using animations." I have never played PA, but I hear it's pretty fun!

I‘m excited to see some the anomaly dlc. I‘m not sure if you‘ve already done that but you might want to allow fresh animal corpses in your fridge stockpile and eventually you’ll want to move the butchering table out of the kitchen because that’s not hygienic

It's a faction that can definitely appear to be a cult. You can eventually have different beliefs that will either make your colonists happy/sad. Stay tuned to see more on that.
