The classic subway map for me was the 1958 subway map with 3 color codes......Red for IND, Green for BMT, and black for IRT.

Ahhh, the good old days of the MBTA’s Red Line Braintree Branch on this long 3.5-mile stretch between North Quincy and JFK/UMass when it was traveling at a speed of 45 miles per hour and took only six minutes back in 2010. Now fast-forward to March 2023 and the trip between these same two stations is an embarrassing 16 minutes long due to poor track conditions and a “slow zone” speed of 10 miles per hour. I can’t believe that I’m actually looking back at “fond memories of the MBTA” during happier commuting times.

Nice! My dorm, Laurel Hall, at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte, has white TrueAlert speaker strobes that don’t do the voice evacuation message, instead they do a tone similar to a low frequency sounder System Sensor SpectrAlert Advance and dual action Simplex T-bars, the panel is a 4100ES, this building was built in 2015

Well, not subway trains. However, from 1898 to 1950, trolleys used to run on the Brooklyn bridge into the Park Row terminal. There aren’t really any traces of these trolleys you can see today.
