I just finished my 3d printed 44 inch Saturn V im wiring the smoke now. This is awesome. It took me 3 days to print the smoke and fire. My next is a space 1999 Eagle.. Very cool job.

Few questions: is there a more in depth how to on this? Also the stand... How did to drop down to the smaller dia.? Did u weld it? How is that small rod attached to the bigger rod....

I’ve built the same model with the leds now in but they are running quite hot and I’m worried about the filling getting too hot. How did you achieve the right heat balance please?

Okay, since we never got an answer I will share my findings with everyone. After trying literally a dozen or more methods and materials, I finally stumbled upon the answer: Plastazote LD45. To be honest, I had no idea such a thing existed... but it is specifically fabricated to diffuse light from LEDs.
