They are an amazing companion, mine is 7 months and I didn't even know about the Linnie but was looking for a lovebird and the breeder told me about this little guy who was only 9 weeks old and hand tamed and it was love at first sight.

He so cute, I'm getting one in a few days I've been deciding on what to get ,and found these birds from a breeder for 300 . Clipping the wings is OK, I've lost many from not clipping and they fly away and die, its not cruel. Nothing wrong with clipping your birds wings . I myself just clip enough so they can still fly and get to the cage, but not enough to fly away very far.

I think it's totally fine unless you teach your birds to free fly and come back. Being able to fly normally just means they'll get injured.

I think you shouldn’t HAVE to clip their wings. It’s your fault for letting so many of your past birds die. I think you should do smth different next time. These birbs were born to fly!! You should train your birbies to trust you more or BUY A BIRD HARNESS!!! That way when it is free flying you can still hold onto it.
