It's criminal that nobody knows this band exists(ed??). I've been hopping on youtube and rewatching Limblifter, Age of Electric and Hawksley Workman every couple of months, and it took until today for me to find this.

From killing and exiling undesirables (read: anyone that opposed the british colonization and establishment of Canada - native peoples, government dissidents) to rocking out to francophone educational videos from the 90's; the Mounties (short for Royal Canadian Mounted Police) certainly have come a long way! Saw the band at The (now shuttered) Starlight Social Club in Waterloo, Ontario back in 2014 and they put on one helluva show! Too bad about the name.

I heard this song on an Indie Rock Playlist from 2019 while I was studying and I immediately noticed that it sounded like Hot Hot Heat. I thought they had already disbanded so I decide to google Hot Hot Heat and the Mounties and.... I've been living under a rock this whole time apparently. But, times flies, front-men are starting new projects and we can't keep up with them all cause we're getting old. Nice song, though! :)
